Before choosing it, match your geometry, material, tolerances, inspection needs, quantity, schedule, and delivery destination to a written, project-specific quote.
What 3ERP says it can make
3ERP lists 3-, 4-, and 5-axis milling, turning, routing, EDM, drilling, and precision grinding for custom metal and plastic parts. Its wider service menu includes 3D printing, injection molding, sheet metal fabrication, casting, finishing, and inspection. That range could help consolidate prototype and low-volume work, provided the supplier confirms the particular process and part are a fit.
Published material examples include aluminum alloys, stainless steels, titanium, PEEK, POM/Delrin, and polycarbonate. These are examples, not confirmation that every grade is available for every order; specify the exact alloy or polymer grade in your RFQ and request traceability or material certificates if the application requires them. See 3ERP’s CNC machining services and on-demand manufacturing services.
When CNC machining or another prototype process makes sense
3ERP positions CNC machining as a way to make functional prototypes in production-grade materials. Whether that is the right route depends on what the part needs to prove: material behavior, fit, strength, appearance, or manufacturability. Geometry, finish, quantity, and cost also affect the choice.

#1 Best Overall
The company also offers 3D printing, molding, sheet metal, and other routes. Ask the supplier to explain the trade-offs for your intended test and quantity rather than treating “rapid prototyping” as a single process. A machined one-off, a printed model, and a molded validation batch answer different questions.
How to evaluate the important claims
Tolerances depend on the feature
3ERP advertises machining tolerances as tight as ±0.01 mm for critical features. Its FAQ says actual precision depends on geometry, material, and process, and that ISO 2768 medium or fine is used by default when drawings omit tolerances. Treat ±0.01 mm as a capability claim to qualify—not a blanket tolerance for every dimension. Put critical dimensions and datums on the drawing, then request written confirmation of the achievable tolerance and the inspection method for each critical feature. See the 3ERP manufacturing FAQs.

Published turnaround is not a delivery commitment
3ERP’s rapid prototyping page says most parts take 5–12 days. Its FAQ says some CNC parts may be delivered in 3–5 business days, depending on complexity, quantity, and location. The pages do not establish that either range applies to your job or destination. Ask for separate production-completion and transit estimates, and have the quote state the shipping method, destination, and required arrival date.
Quality, certification, and inspection need to be specified
3ERP describes itself as ISO 9001:2015 certified and mentions CMM inspection, dimensional reports, and first article inspection (FAI). If certification is part of supplier approval, request the current certificate and its scope. For your order, specify which dimensions will be inspected, what report will be delivered, whether FAI is included, and what acceptance and corrective-action terms apply.

- 【CNC Z Axis Setter】This is a high precise hardware tool for correcting and setting Z axis of CNC machine tool, sensitive and precise. Z Axis Setter Reading Resolution is: 0.01mm/0.0005"; Repeatability: 0.01mm/0.0005"; Body height: 50.8mm/2"; Response speed: 1m/s.
- 【High Accuracy】Compared with traditional tool setting methods, the z axis zero setter has a mechanical dial with stable performance. It has two dials, the large one is the scale and the small one represents the cycles. The accuracy can reach 0.0005 inches and it is easy to read. It can reduce manual error and ensure the consistency of measurement results.
- 【Magnetic Design】The Z Axis Setter has 4 strong magnets embedded in the bottom, easy to fix and non-slip, and can be used horizontally or sideways. The measuring surface of the cnc tool setter is spring-loaded with low elasticity. It can protect the tool and effectively prevent it from being damaged or broken.
- 【With Storage Case】The z axis zero setter is equipped with a shock-resistant storage case, which makes it easy to store and move the machine. It can prevent damage to the machine and avoid inaccuracies.
- 【Wide Application】The cnc gauge setter can be used to measure and correct the height of the z-axis. It is not limited by the material of the workpiece, which makes it highly applicable. Suitable for CNC Lathe,Milling Machine,Drilling Machine.
Quantity and finish affect the quote
The FAQ says there is no strict minimum order quantity and that the company supports one-off prototypes and low- to mid-volume runs. Request quotes at the quantities you are actually considering so setup charges and unit prices can be compared. Identify cosmetic and functional finish requirements—including any coating, plating, polishing, or heat treatment—and ask how critical surfaces will be accepted.
What to include in an RFQ
3ERP says its engineers review manufacturability and provide DFM feedback. Make the review useful by sending a complete, revision-controlled package and asking what feedback and timing are included. The company lists STEP as a preferred 3D file format; it also accepts PDF or DWG drawings for reference.

- Send the 3D CAD file and a 2D drawing that identifies datums, critical dimensions, tolerances, and revision.
- State the exact material grade, quantity tiers, intended use, and any material traceability or certification requirement.
- Define surface finish, appearance criteria, and any secondary operations such as coating, plating, polishing, or heat treatment.
- Specify inspection expectations: dimensions to measure, equipment or report needed, and whether FAI is required.
- Give the delivery destination and required arrival date, and ask for production and transit timing separately.
- List confidentiality, IP, and communication requirements. Review the actual NDA and confirm ownership, file-retention, change-control, and contact arrangements before sharing sensitive designs.
- Ask the quote to itemize or state assumptions for material, setup, finishing, inspection, packaging, freight, duties, and rework; identify exclusions and proposed DFM changes before production.
Account for sourcing, shipping, and total cost
3ERP’s FAQ says its parts are manufactured and shipped from China. For an international order, compare landed cost and import timing—not just the quoted part price. Confirm the shipping method, freight charge, duties or other import costs, packaging, and who is responsible for each item. The reviewed service pages do not provide a universal price or a comparable market benchmark, so the complete quote is the relevant basis for a decision.
How to compare 3ERP with another supplier
Send the same drawing, material, quantity tiers, inspection requirements, and delivery destination to each supplier. Compare the answers on the assumptions that matter to your part:
Best Value
- Process and material fit, including any special setup or secondary operation.
- Feature-level tolerance commitments and the inspection evidence supplied.
- DFM feedback, response arrangements, and change control.
- Total landed price at the quantities you need.
- Committed production schedule and transit estimate to your destination.
- Quality-system documentation, acceptance criteria, and corrective-action terms.
- Confidentiality, IP handling, and file-retention terms.
A stated tolerance or short turnaround is only comparable when the part geometry, inspection scope, assumptions, and delivery point also match. The claims discussed here are from 3ERP’s own service pages and FAQs; they do not establish comparative superiority, quote competitiveness, on-time performance, defect rates, or customer satisfaction.
