OZ Developers, represented in the auction by Hamza Majeed, won the Pakistan Super League’s Sialkot franchise on January 8, 2026. The franchise was first introduced as Sialkot Stallionz and was renamed Multan Sultans in a March 3, 2026 league announcement. The available reports identify the bidder and team changes, but do not establish OZ Developers’ detailed ownership structure.
Who bought the Sialkot PSL franchise?
OZ Developers secured the franchise at the PSL auction. The Associated Press of Pakistan (APP) identified Hamza Majeed as OZ Developers’ representative in its January 8, 2026 auction report. Majeed said he was originally from Lahore but wanted to own a team from Punjab, and was proud to secure Sialkot.
The reports establish OZ Developers as the winning bidder and name Majeed in connection with the bid. They do not provide enough information to describe the company’s full corporate ownership or identify an exact ownership percentage in the franchise.
Why is the Sialkot team now called Multan Sultans?
Sialkot Stallionz was the franchise’s initial public name. Dawn Sport reported on January 21, 2026 that Kamil Khan unveiled its name and logo. Before the PSL’s 11th edition, the league announced that the franchise had been renamed Multan Sultans.

In its official March 3, 2026 announcement, the PSL said the rename followed a strategic partnership with CD Ventures and the appointment of Gohar Shah as CEO. The release does not specify the partnership’s equity terms, so it does not support a claim about CD Ventures’ percentage stake.
What was the franchise bid?
Dawn reported that OZ Developers’ winning bid was PKR 1.85 billion per annum for franchise rights lasting ten years. APP’s auction report also gives the bid as PKR 1.85 billion, though it does not state “per annum” in the cited passage. These figures describe the original auction bid, not the later amended agreement.

The PSL’s March announcement says the amended ten-year agreement totals PKR 20 billion, following the name change, a one-time licence fee and an increase in the franchise fee. The release also contains a historical sentence saying OZ Developers acquired the franchise for “PKR 18.5 billion for 10 years.” That figure conflicts with the contemporaneous reporting of PKR 1.85 billion per year and with the release’s own PKR 20 billion amended total; the contemporaneous auction figure and the later amended total are therefore best kept distinct.
