Westfield Carousel’s large-scale Friday night trading was announced to begin on 6 October 2023, and Sephora was scheduled to open six days later. Those are historical dates, not a current Friday-hours schedule: check Westfield’s official centre-hours page and Sephora’s store listing for the hours on your visit date.
What changed at Westfield Carousel in October 2023?
PerthNow reported on 28 September 2023 that Westfield Carousel would become the first suburban shopping centre in Perth to offer large-scale Friday night trading, starting 6 October 2023. The change gave retailers the opportunity to extend their Friday trading; it did not mean every store would necessarily open late.
At the time of the announcement, 135 retailers had confirmed they would take the opportunity. PerthNow named Myer, JD, Cotton On Mega, H&M and Peter Alexander among them. These are figures and examples from the 2023 announcement, not a current list of participating stores. PerthNow’s report also quoted then Australian Retail Association chief executive Paul Zahra: “Customers expect to shop where and when they like in a physical store as they do online.”
What time does Westfield Carousel close on Friday?
The 2023 announcement gave 6 October as the start date for extended Friday trading, but it does not establish the centre’s current Friday closing time. Westfield’s official Westfield Carousel opening-hours page displays hours by date and notes that individual store hours may vary. Check it for the day you plan to visit rather than relying on a past announcement or assuming every retailer follows centre hours.

Where is Sephora in Westfield Carousel?
Westfield’s current listing places Sephora on Level 1, near David Jones. Sephora Australia’s locator gives the address as Shop 1252/4, Westfield Carousel, 1382 Albany Highway, Cannington WA 6107, and lists the store phone as 08 6350 1573. See the Westfield Sephora listing or Sephora Australia’s store locator for current store information and hours.
What was announced about Sephora’s opening?
PerthNow reported that Sephora was scheduled to open on 12 October 2023, six days after the late-trading launch. The report described a planned 350-square-metre store with a beauty studio and brands including Fenty Beauty by Rihanna and tarte. It also called the location the chain’s 28th Australian site at that time. These are pre-opening details reported in 2023; they should not be taken as a guarantee of today’s store layout, product availability or current Australian store count.

How to check hours for a particular visit
- Open Westfield Carousel’s official opening-hours page and check the date-specific centre hours.
- For Sephora, use the Westfield store listing or Sephora Australia locator to confirm that store’s hours and details.
- If your visit depends on a specific retailer staying open late, confirm that retailer’s hours separately; the Friday extension was an opportunity for shops to trade longer, not a requirement that every shop do so.
What the 2023 trading-hours context does—and does not—tell you
PerthNow’s 2023 article said metropolitan retail stores were then restricted to 5pm on Saturdays and Sundays, while weekday trading could extend to 9pm. That is historical context from the report, not confirmation of current Western Australian retail-trading rules.
