Which western suburbs distillery won gold?
Spirit of Little Things, based in Subiaco, was the western suburbs distillery named in PerthNow’s 12 September 2024 report. The official 2024 results catalogue records its Australian Botanical Gin as a gold-winning entry in the contemporary gin class. See the official 2024 results catalogue.

How were the spirits judged?
According to PerthNow’s account of the 2024 event, 20 independent experts judged 169 entries from 36 exhibitors, assisted by 10 stewards. The panel assessed colour and appearance, nose, palate, balance, and finish. These figures describe that year’s awards, not current judging arrangements.
The same report said Old Young’s Distillery received the Champion Spirit Award for Old Young’s 1829 Gin and the Champion Distillery Award, while Whipper Snapper Distillery won gold for Upshot Cask Strength Whisky.
What was the Singlefile collaboration?
PerthNow reported that Spirit of Little Things made its Pinot Noir Gin with grapes from Singlefile, a winery in Denmark, over a two-month production period. In the September 2024 story, co-owner Tom Martin called it “a really interesting product” and said feedback had been positive, with a re-release planned for later that month. That was a statement about plans in 2024, not confirmation of current availability.

Spirit of Little Things’ current website lists Australian Botanical Gin in its range and includes cocktail recipes such as a Little Martini, Little Negroni, and gin and tonic. Check the distillery’s current product information. A Dan Murphy’s listing describes the Australian Botanical Gin as a 700 mL bottle at 43% ABV, but retailer prices and local stock can change.
