What Wells Fargo changed
According to AppleInsider’s October 22, 2025 report, Wells Fargo’s note was dated October 21. The firm raised its AAPL price target by $45, from $245 to $290—an increase of about 18.4%, calculated from those two reported figures.
The firm kept its Overweight rating. This was a higher price target, not a reported change in the rating itself. A rating-history aggregator also records the October 21 action and identifies Aaron Rakers with it; that listing is secondary context, not the underlying Wells Fargo note. Why Wells Fargo raised its target
The AppleInsider report attributed the change to expectations for a strong fiscal fourth quarter, associated with the iPhone 17, as well as future prospects for Apple Intelligence. Those points describe the analyst thesis reported at the time, not guaranteed sales, product adoption or investment returns.

The report also attributed two quarterly forecasts to Wells Fargo: earnings per share of $1.79 and revenue of $102.4 billion. These were estimates, not reported results. The available reporting does not establish whether either forecast was later met.
Is $290 Wells Fargo’s current AAPL target?
That is not established by the available records. They document a target action in October 2025, but do not verify Wells Fargo’s target as of October 8, 2026. Analyst targets can change, so do not treat $290 as a live recommendation without checking a current, dated source.
