The West Bengal Public Service Commission (WBPSC) has published the result of the West Bengal Audit and Accounts Service Recruitment (Preliminary) Examination, 2022, and 246 candidates are listed as qualified for the Main examination under Advertisement No. 13/2022. The official results listing dates the Preliminary result to 25 June 2024 and the separate list of qualified candidates to 14 June 2024. Qualifying put candidates through to the Main examination. It did not select anyone for appointment.
The recruitment has moved beyond that 2024 milestone. The same WBPSC results listing carries a result for the 2022 Main examination dated 12 December 2025, so the 2024 Preliminary announcement is no longer the latest stage in this cycle.
Key dates in the 2022 recruitment cycle
WBPSC’s results listing contains two separate 2024 entries and one later entry. They are easy to blur together, so the table keeps each one on its own line.

The 14 June date comes before the 25 June date because the qualified list and the published result carry different dates in the listing. Cite each date with its own label rather than treating 25 June as the date the 246 candidates were identified.

What “246 qualified” means
The figure counts candidates who advanced from the Preliminary examination to the Main examination. It is not a count of final selections, merit positions or appointments. Anyone reporting a selection rate would need a published count of Preliminary appearances, and the WBPSC listing does not supply one in the material reviewed for this article. Scroll.in’s June 2024 report on the Preliminary result is consistent with WBPSC’s own listing on the 246 figure, and it can be cited as secondary corroboration: Scroll.in, WBPSC Audit and Accounts Prelims 2022 result.
How the recruitment is structured
The recruitment notice for Advertisement No. 13/2022 describes three stages. A copy of the notice is hosted at wbaas.in, and the official announcements page is at psc.wb.gov.in.

The notice lists the following as acceptable routes:
- A commerce degree.
- Membership of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI).
- Membership of the Institute of Cost Accountants of India (ICMAI).
- An approved two-year full-time finance postgraduate qualification.
Confirm the wording of the eligibility clause in the notice itself before applying any of these criteria to a specific degree or diploma, since the listed routes are summarised here.
