For the four completed 2026 regional WON BASS Opens covered by the official results page, advertised event totals run from over $120,000 to over $200,000 in cash and prizes. Those are combined prize values—not all-cash purses. A champion’s award can include a boat-and-outboard package, cash and separate bonuses. The 2026 U.S. Open is scheduled for October 9–11 at Lake Mead; as of October 8, its final payout had not been established in the published material.
2026 WON BASS Open totals and winner awards
WON BASS publishes event-wide totals as cash and prizes. The figures below distinguish those totals from reported champion awards and, where available, the stated cash component. Champion award values may include non-cash equipment and bonuses.
| 2026 event | Event-wide published total | Reported Pro champion award |
|---|---|---|
| Winter Open | Over $120,000 in cash and prizes, according to the WON BASS results page. | Garrett Ellenson received a Ranger Z518/Mercury ProXS 150 prize rig valued at $55,000, $3,000 cash, and a separate $500 Day 3 Pro Big Bass award, according to the event report. |
| Shasta Open | Over $165,000 in cash and prizes, according to the WON BASS results page. | The champion received a Ranger Z518 with a Mercury ProXS 150 plus $3,500 cash. AAA champion Jaramy Riddle earned $4,000, according to the event report. |
| Clear Lake Open | Over $200,000 in cash and prizes, according to the WON BASS results page. | Garrett Ellenson’s reported total prize was $60,500: a boat package valued at $55,000, $4,550 cash, and a $1,000 Big Stringer award, according to the event report. |
| Havasu Open | Over $175,000 in cash and prizes, according to the WON BASS results page. | Cody Steckel’s package included a Ranger Z518/Mercury ProXS 150, $5,000 cash, and a daily big-bass bonus; the report gives a total of $60,000 including that bonus. AAA champion Damon Motley earned $4,300, according to the event report. |
Why the headline total is not the cash payout
The event-wide figure combines money with the value of non-cash prizes. An individual champion’s total may also combine a boat package, cash and a separate big-fish or stringer award. For example, the Clear Lake report breaks its $60,500 champion award into a $55,000 boat package, $4,550 cash and a $1,000 bonus. That is a stated total award value, not $60,500 in cash.
When comparing payouts, keep these categories separate: event-wide cash and prize value; a particular angler’s cash payment; the stated value of equipment; bonus awards; and any conditional contingency money. AAA and Pro awards are separate, so a Pro champion’s total does not describe what an AAA angler wins.

- Easy Catch Design – Three Actions in One Lure The Swimmax delivers wiggling, vibrating, gurgling and rattling noise at the same time. Steady retrieve triggers a lifelike swimming action with internal rattles that call fish from a distance – more actions, less effort. Ideal for family fishing.
- Heavy-Duty Dyneema Fiber Joint – Built to Last Unlike soft plastic joints that tear easily, the Swimmax features a strong Dyneema fiber connection between segments. This allows free movement while withstanding repeated strikes from toothy fish – no more broken jointed swimbaits.
- Wiggling & Vibrating Swim – Natural Baitfish Imitation The segmented body creates a seductive side‑to‑side wiggle combined with a tight vibrating swim. Mimics a wounded or fleeing baitfish with incredible realism – irresistible to bass, trout, and crappie.
- Rattling and Gurgling Noise – Attracts Fish from Afar Internal rattles produce rattling sound while segments disturb water and create gurgling noise that mimics feeding activity. This acoustic trigger draws curious predators even in murky water or low light – you'll get more strikes before the fish even see the lure.
- BKK Hook & Family-Friendly Design – Ready for Everyone Equipped with sharp, corrosion‑resistant BKK hooks, the Swimmax is easy to use and perfect for family fishing trips. Kids and adults alike can enjoy catching bass, trout, and crappie without complicated setups.
How WON BASS standings and ties affect awards
Under the WON BASS rules, final placements are determined by heaviest cumulative weight over the prescribed tournament period. Pros and AAAs compete in separate divisions. If cash awards are tied, the prizes assigned to the tied places are added together and divided among the tied anglers.
Contingency awards are conditional
WON BASS lists additional contingency awards on its official contingency page. A first-place winner may qualify for an additional $8,000 if the boat-model and motor requirements are met: an eligible 2023–2026 boat model and a motor of 200 HP or larger. The page also lists $500 for qualified top-ten finishers with a motor of 60 HP or larger. These are eligibility-dependent awards, not guaranteed parts of every event purse or every winner’s payout.

What is known about the 2026 U.S. Open payout?
The 2026 U.S. Open is scheduled for October 9–11 at Lake Mead, according to the WON BASS schedule. Because the event begins after October 8, 2026, the final payout is not established by the published material available at that date. Do not treat a past U.S. Open award as a guaranteed 2026 payout.

For context only, WON BASS described the 2025 U.S. Open winner’s boat-and-motor prize plus cash as well over $100,000 in its 2025 event report. That year’s second day was canceled for unsafe conditions, and the organizer said daily big-bass awards would be redistributed among qualifying anglers from the two days fished. Those 2025 circumstances and award figures do not establish the 2026 payout.
Independent reader supportYour contribution helps us test, update, and keep practical guides available for everyone.Who competes, and what participation requires
WON BASS describes Pros as anglers who own and operate their tournament boat; AAAs are co-anglers or amateurs fishing from a Pro’s boat. Season membership is required, while entry fees and event conditions vary by tournament. Consult the WON BASS tour information and the specific event details before treating an award figure as a net financial return: the published prize value does not account for an angler’s entry fees or other participation costs.

- Easy Catch Design – Trembly Sinking + Vibrating Swim. The Shadtale delivers two actions in one lure: steady retrieve triggers a tight vibrating swim with paddle tail kick; jigging hops create a unique trembling fall. This combination triggers strikes from curious and aggressive fish alike
- Unique Trembly Sinking – Trembles All the Way Down. After each jigging hop, the Shadtale doesn't just drop – it trembles. This high‑frequency vibration during the fall mimics a stunned or injured baitfish, drawing reaction bites even from pressured bass, trout, crappie, and walleye
- Vibrating Swim Action – Steady Retrieve, Solid Vibration. Reel it in at a constant speed, and the paddle tail produces a powerful, tight vibrating swim. The lifelike shad profile and tail kick send out water displacement that predator fish can't resist – perfect for covering water
- BKK Premium Hooks – Ready to Fish. Equipped with sharp, corrosion‑resistant BKK hooks straight from the factory. No need to upgrade – these hooks penetrate deep and hold firm, giving you confidence on every hookset
- Multi‑Lure Pack – Multiple Colors, Better Value, Any Water Condition. Each pack contains multiple Shadtale lures in a variety of colors.
