WBPSC Clerkship registration for the 2023 examination is not open. The recruitment cycle tied to Advertisement No. 13/2023 is a past cycle, and as of 8 October 2026 no official notice shows a live application window for it. Any headline that says the deadline is today and tells you to apply now is out of date.
Why the 2023 Clerkship application cannot be submitted now
The Public Service Commission, West Bengal (WBPSC) issued Indicative Advertisement No. 13/2023 on 14 October 2023. It announced the Clerkship Examination 2023 and said applications had to be submitted online through the Commission’s website. Candidates, including those who had enrolled earlier, were told to register afresh. The notice did not print the application deadline. It told candidates to wait for a detailed advertisement that would set out dates, qualifications, fees, scheme and syllabus.
The cycle has since moved well past the application stage. The official record, as reviewed for this article, runs as follows:

Because the 2023 cycle has progressed to examination and qualification stages, a “last date today” message cannot apply to it. A notice that asks you to apply for that cycle is either outdated or inaccurate.

How to check whether a WBPSC notice is current
Recruitment headlines are often republished long after the window has closed. Before you act on any WBPSC-related deadline, verify it on the Commission’s own site at https://wbpsc.gov.in. The homepage lists candidate services and the notices section; the Commission states that applications for its recruitment advertisements are submitted online only through that website.
- Open https://wbpsc.gov.in directly. Do not rely on a link from a search result or social post.
- Find the advertisement number and year. Note whether it is an indicative notice or a detailed advertisement. An indicative notice often does not carry the application dates.
- Locate the detailed advertisement for that number. Check the application opening and closing dates printed in it, not in a summary.
- Compare the notice date with the latest stage notice (for example, an admit card, a result, or a Part-II qualification list). If later stages are already published, the application window has almost certainly closed.
- Only register through the official portal named in the detailed advertisement. Be cautious with any site that asks for a fee before the official notice confirms it.
What is not established by the official material
The indexed official passages do not give the application opening date, closing date, payment dates, eligibility conditions, age limit or fee for Advertisement No. 13/2023. Those figures appear only in the detailed advertisement, which is listed on the Commission’s index but was not available as text for this article. Do not rely on figures from memory or from a different recruitment advertisement. If you need the exact 2023 terms for a record or a dispute, take them from the detailed advertisement on the WBPSC website.

If you want to apply for a WBPSC post that is open now, search the official site for a notice dated within the current year and read its closing date before preparing documents. Keep the advertisement number, the application window and the portal address in one place so you can match them against any later notice that claims to be a reminder or extension. A reminder from a third party that does not cite a WBPSC advertisement number should be treated as unverified.
The Clerkship Examination 2023 is not one of those open cycles. Its registration is over, and its public record now sits in the examination and qualification stages described above.

The title’s “apply now” message therefore does not apply to this cycle. Readers who need a verified, current WBPSC opening should check the Commission’s website directly.
