Virgin Plus raised the monthly prices of three 4G plans and introduced a higher-priced fourth plan, according to a MobileSyrup report published June 7, 2024. The four offers were listed for new activations, so that report does not show that every existing customer’s bill went up. Virgin Plus’s currently accessible price-change FAQ describes a separate notice-based increase; check your own notice and bill before connecting it to the 2024 story.
Which Virgin Plus 4G plan prices changed in 2024?
MobileSyrup reported the following lineup on June 7, 2024. The listed plans were available only for new activations at the time; these are historical prices, not current offers.
| Monthly price reported in 2024 | Data | Price before change |
|---|---|---|
| $54/month | 60GB | $50/month |
| $49/month | 50GB | $44/month |
| $44/month | 40GB | $39/month |
| $39/month | 20GB | $34/month after a 24-month $5 credit |
The 40GB plan was the new, more expensive option in the lineup; the reported 60GB and 50GB plans also cost more than before. The 20GB plan’s previous price included a 24-month credit, so its comparison is not a like-for-like permanent-price change. MobileSyrup’s June 7, 2024 report gives the historical figures.
What did the plans include?
As reported in 2024, the plans used 4G data with speeds capped at 150 Mbps and video streaming quality capped at 480p. They included unlimited Canada-wide calling and texting, plus unlimited international texts sent from Canada. These terms describe the reported offers, not necessarily plans sold today.

Does the 2024 report explain why your bill increased?
Not by itself. MobileSyrup said the four plans were for new activations, which does not establish that existing customers on those offers—or all Virgin Plus members—were automatically moved to higher prices. A bill change may instead relate to a notice addressed to your account, a promotional credit ending, or another plan change; compare the bill with your agreement and any messages from Virgin Plus.
What does Virgin Plus say about its separate price-change notice?
Virgin Plus’s currently accessible “Monthly Price Changes” FAQ describes an increase beginning on June invoices for month-to-month Bring-Your-Own-Phone (BYOP) members who received a notification in April. The FAQ does not identify the year, affected plans, or increase amount in the visible text, so it cannot be treated as confirmation of the June 2024 report’s changes.

Virgin Plus says notified members may move to an in-market BYOP plan, or change or cancel without a cancellation fee up to 30 days after the June bill date. It says members who did not receive the April notification are not affected by the change described on that page: “If you didn’t receive a notification from us in April, then this change does not impact you.” Check the date and terms in your own notice and invoice to determine whether the FAQ applies to you.
How to check whether your plan or bill changed
- Review your latest bill for a changed monthly plan charge, a credit that expired, or a different plan name.
- Look for a Virgin Plus notice sent to you in April and compare its effective date and terms with your June invoice.
- If the reason is unclear, contact Virgin Plus and ask which plan or credit changed, when it took effect, and whether an in-market BYOP option is available for your account.
- Before switching, compare the full monthly cost after eligible credits, data allowance and speed, coverage where you use your phone, calling, texting and roaming terms, and whether the offer is available to existing members.
What Virgin Plus offers now—and what is separate from the 2024 story
As observed October 8, 2026, Virgin Plus’s postpaid page advertised BYOP offers of 20GB for $40/month and 60GB for $50/month with an eligible autopay credit. Offers can change, and these advertised prices should not be confused with the 2024 lineup. Check the Virgin Plus postpaid plans page for current eligibility and terms.

MobileSyrup also reported a separate Virgin Plus change on October 8, 2026: the carrier dropped a $45/20GB plan and raised a talk-and-text plan from $25 to $30 per month. That later event is distinct from the June 2024 4G-plan price changes. MobileSyrup’s October 8, 2026 report covers that update.
