UVeye announced a $191 million extension to its Series D on January 29, 2025—but that total combined $41 million in equity with a separate $150 million debt facility. Toyota’s growth fund, Woven Capital, led the equity round. The company sells installed, AI-assisted vehicle inspection systems to commercial operators; “MRI for cars” is a metaphor for image-based checks, not literal medical imaging.
What was UVeye’s $191 million funding round?
UVeye said the financing extended its 2023 Series D and brought its total funding to $380.5 million. The announcement was made on January 29, 2025, so this is a historical financing, not a new 2026 raise. UVeye’s announcement distributed by PR Newswire separated the amount into equity and debt:
| Component | Amount and terms |
|---|---|
| Equity financing | $41 million, led by Woven Capital |
| Debt facility | $150 million, structured by Trinity Capital; a $100 million initial commitment plus an option for an additional $50 million |
| Announced extension | $191 million total |
The $150 million facility is not the same as $150 million of immediately funded equity. The release describes a $100 million initial commitment and an option for the remaining $50 million.
Who invested?
Woven Capital, Toyota’s growth fund, led the equity financing. The release also named UMC Capital and MyBerg among participants and listed existing investors. The financing announcement does not make Toyota itself the lead investor; it identifies Woven Capital as Toyota’s growth fund.

What does UVeye do?
UVeye sells and installs automated vehicle-inspection systems for businesses. The platform uses imaging and AI to examine visible parts of a vehicle and produce inspection information that operators can use in processes such as maintenance, appraisal, customer service, logistics, or quality control. The company’s product descriptions name underbody scanning, tire analysis, and 360-degree exterior detection; its homepage also describes interior scanning. The scope depends on the system installed, so it should not be assumed that every deployment scans every area.
“MRI for cars” is the company’s shorthand for rapid, image-based inspection. Unlike medical imaging, the system does not look inside a vehicle’s materials or diagnose hidden mechanical conditions; its described work is visual inspection of vehicle areas.

What can the systems detect?
UVeye describes products that identify visible tire issues, underbody anomalies, and exterior damage. Its product timeline also names Apollo, an interior-scanning tool. These are vendor descriptions, not a guarantee that every installation covers all categories or will detect every defect under all conditions.
How is it used in a business workflow?
The stated value proposition is a standardized, image-backed inspection that can help staff review a vehicle’s condition and route findings into existing business processes. UVeye says scans take seconds and promotes real-time reporting and integration with business systems; those are company descriptions rather than independently verified performance guarantees. Whether automation saves time or money for a particular operator depends on deployment, throughput, integration, and how staff act on the findings.

What did UVeye say the funding would pay for?
In January 2025, UVeye said it would use the capital for geographic expansion in Japan, the UK, Europe, and North America, increased manufacturing capacity, and broader deployments. The company also said it planned hundreds of new installations worldwide in 2025 and intended to work with automakers on manufacturing-line inspection. TechCrunch reported that CEO Amir Hever described demand as exceeding the company’s ability to support it and that the debt was intended to help deploy close to 700 systems in 2025. These were management’s plans and reported targets at the time—not evidence that the installations were completed.
The distinction matters: a financing announcement can document the amount raised and the company’s stated intentions, but does not by itself verify later rollout results or the commercial impact of the systems.

How large is UVeye today?
UVeye’s undated About page, accessed October 8, 2026, reports more than 700 customer locations, 5.2 billion images analyzed annually, more than 3 million scans per month, and $380.5 million in total funding. The company does not provide a dated methodology or independent verification alongside these figures, so they should be read as company-reported metrics rather than audited results. UVeye About page
UVeye says it was founded in 2016 by brothers Amir and Ohad Hever, initially applying computer vision and deep learning to inspect vehicle undercarriages for security threats. Its company history traces products including the Helios undercarriage system, Atlas exterior system, Artemis tire system, and Apollo interior tool. Because the timeline has an apparent chronology inconsistency around an early Series A milestone, it is not a dependable source for reconstructing every fundraising date. UVeye company history
