It was not the separate 2020 investigation into allegations concerning team members. Ubisoft announced a major organizational reset in January 2026, but that later move does not establish what the 2024 review concluded.
What Ubisoft’s 2024 internal review was about
A September 26, 2024 article connected the review to Ubisoft’s 2024–25 fiscal-year update and described its aim as improving execution. The article’s page was not available to verify directly, so those details should be treated as secondary reporting—not as a direct Ubisoft statement or quotation.
The article placed the review in the same announcement context as the delay of Assassin’s Creed Shadows and the game’s planned day-one release on Steam. That context does not, by itself, show that the review caused the delay or that Ubisoft announced the delay as one of the review’s outcomes.
How the 2024 review differs from Ubisoft’s 2020 investigations
Ubisoft’s June 25, 2020 statement concerned allegations involving team members. The company said it had begun investigations with specialized external consultants, would consider disciplinary action based on the findings, and was auditing its policies, processes, and systems. That was a distinct process from the company-wide execution review described in the 2024 article; the available information does not connect the two.

What Ubisoft announced in January 2026
On January 21, 2026, Ubisoft announced a broad organizational and portfolio reset centered on five specialized Creative Houses, a refocused multi-year roadmap, and accelerated cost reductions. The company said some projects would be discontinued, some games would receive more development time, and studio closures or restructurings were part of the changes.
This was a later reset, not evidence of the 2024 review’s findings or a documented list of changes produced by that review. Ubisoft’s press-center listing included releases through September 30, 2026; the January announcement should therefore be understood as a dated development, not necessarily the company’s latest communication.
