Scroll reported that UPSC extended the deadline to January 1, 2025, at 6:00 p.m. That date has passed, so candidates cannot use it to submit an application now. The article’s application link is a historical reference, not a live route to an open form.
Which UPSC NDA/NA application window was extended to January 1?
The extension concerned the NDA/NA (I), 2025 examination cycle. Scroll reported the revised application deadline as January 1, 2025, at 6:00 p.m. It also reported a correction period running from January 1 through January 7, 2025. Both periods have ended. Read Scroll’s January 1, 2025 report for the historical notice.
The report directed applicants to UPSC’s website to apply. Because the 2025 window is closed, that reference should not be treated as an active application link. For a future cycle, use the application route specified in that cycle’s official UPSC notice.
Can you still submit an application using the January 1 link?
No. The January 1, 2025 deadline and the reported correction period are in the past. A link in an old news report cannot reopen a closed application window. Candidates seeking to apply must check the official UPSC notice for a currently active examination cycle and follow its application instructions.

How do the 2026 NDA/NA dates differ?
UPSC’s 2026 cycle pages list different deadlines for the two examinations. These dates are also historical as of October 8, 2026:
| Examination cycle | Application deadline | Examination date | Official information |
|---|---|---|---|
| NDA/NA (I), 2026 | December 30, 2025, at 6:00 p.m. | April 12, 2026 | UPSC active examinations page |
| NDA/NA (II), 2026 | June 11, 2026, at 6:00 p.m. | September 13, 2026 | UPSC active examinations page |
Check the cycle name as well as the date: an NDA/NA (I) deadline does not apply to NDA/NA (II), and neither 2026 deadline is a current opportunity to apply. UPSC’s examination pages identify the cycle and its dates; use the relevant official notice for application instructions.
