UKPSC’s Lecturer Group C recruitment opened on 18 October 2024 with 613 posts originally advertised. The application window has closed: the original deadline of 7 November was extended to 14 November 2024, and a March 2025 amendment removed two Lecturer-Art posts from the General Branch. A separate UKPSC recruitment announced in 2025 covered 808 posts; it is not the same recruitment cycle.
What the 2024 UKPSC recruitment announced
Uttarakhand Public Service Commission (UKPSC) issued advertisement A-3/S-1/DR(L.I.C)/2024 on 18 October 2024 for direct recruitment to Lecturer posts in the Uttarakhand Special Subordinate Education service, General and Women branches. Its original notice recorded 613 vacancies. UKPSC’s March 2025 revision notice recounts that original total and the advertisement details.

The extension was made under an interim order in a writ petition, according to UKPSC. The dates are historical; applications for this cycle are no longer open. See UKPSC’s revision notice.
Hindustan Times reported at the time that fee payment was due by 7 November and that the correction window was scheduled for 19–28 November 2024. Those details were reported contemporaneously but are not confirmed by the UKPSC notice cited above. Hindustan Times’ 18 October 2024 report also described how applicants submitted forms during the open window.

Why the original 613-post total changed
On 6 March 2025, UKPSC issued revised details removing two Lecturer-Art posts in the General Branch. The commission said the state government had requested their removal while amendments to the educational and training qualification for Lecturer-Art were under consideration. The official revision notice documents the change.
Subtracting the two removed posts from the original 613 gives a derived total of 611. That is an arithmetic result of the amendment, rather than a separate total explicitly stated in the notice.
How the 2024 recruitment differs from the 2025 round
UKPSC later advertised a separate Lecturer Group C recruitment for 808 posts. Its notice says applicants from the 2024 advertisement generally did not need to apply again, except that earlier Lecturer-Art applications were not carried forward for the posts removed from the 2024 advertisement.
