NTA announced January 17, 2024, as the revised date for the UGC-NET December 2023 final result. A January 18 release subsequently confirmed that results had been hosted on the official portal, ugcnet.nta.ac.in. Use the December 2023 scorecard action to access the result; the e-certificate and JRF award letter have a separate portal link.
When was the UGC NET December 2023 result released?
NTA’s January 9, 2024 public notice said the final result would be declared on January 17. The notice explained that a re-examination had been held following a natural calamity in Chennai and Andhra Pradesh. January 17 was the announced date; NTA’s January 18 release is the later confirmation that results were hosted and candidates could access their scorecards.
The January 9 notice listed these assistance numbers at that time: 011-40759000 and 69227700. Contact information can change, so check the current official portal for helpdesk details if you need assistance now.
How to download the December 2023 scorecard
- Open the official UGC-NET portal.
- Find the December 2023 cycle under the candidate activity links.
- Select the December 2023 scorecard download action.
- Log in through the portal to view, download, or print the scorecard.
The archived portal lists the scorecard action, but the official material does not establish which exact credentials the archived endpoint requires today or provide current account-recovery instructions. If the link or login does not work, use the current NTA helpdesk information on the portal or NTA’s published assistance channels rather than relying on guessed recovery steps.

Scorecard and e-certificate are separate documents
The December 2023 portal lists a distinct action for the e-certificate and JRF award letter. Choose that link if you need the qualification document; the scorecard link is for the result record and is not the certificate download.
How NTA processed the results
NTA said question papers, provisional answer keys, and recorded responses were available for challenges from January 3 through January 5, 2024. Subject experts reviewed the challenges, and results were processed using the finalized answer keys.
NTA’s January 18, 2024 release reported 9,45,872 registered candidates and 6,95,928 candidates who appeared. The examination covered 83 subjects in 292 cities, with 15 shifts across 8 exam days. A separate January 9 notice said the examination had been conducted for 9,45,918 candidates; because the official documents give different figures, the later release’s explicitly labeled registered-candidate count is used here for that statistic.

NTA stated that eligibility criteria, self-declarations, and documents for eligible candidates remain subject to verification under the UGC-NET December 2023 Information Bulletin. A scorecard alone should not be treated as completion of that verification.
