Withheld results and carried-forward vacancies
Scroll reported that the results of seven candidates were withheld but did not give a reason. The report separately said two current PwBD-1 vacancies were carried forward to the next recruitment cycle because suitable candidates were unavailable. It does not establish whether or how these items relate to the category figures or the 143 recommendations.

The 2025 date in this result headline refers to when the 2024 examination result was announced. UPSC’s Final Results Archives are organized by examination and upload date. As of 8 October 2026, the archive lists the separate Indian Forest Service (Main) Examination, 2025 result as uploaded on 8 May 2026. That later entry is not the 2024 result.
