The UPSC recruitment drive for 78 Specialist Grade III posts is closed. The archived recruitment report lists January 11, 2024, as the online application deadline; the headline’s “Apply Online” wording no longer applies.

Which posts were included?

Jagran Josh’s archived 2023 report lists 78 vacancies for the Department of Health and Family Welfare, Government of the National Capital Territory of Delhi. The underlying UPSC advertisement was linked from the report but was not retrievable for independent verification, so these figures are attributed to that secondary report.

Specialty Posts reported
Specialist Grade III (Anaesthesiology) 46
Specialist Grade III (Biochemistry) 1
Specialist Grade III (Forensic Medicine) 7
Specialist Grade III (Microbiology) 9
Specialist Grade III (Pathology) 7
Specialist Grade III (Plastic Surgery and Reconstructive Surgery) 8
Total 78

Read the archived recruitment report.

What were the dates and application process?

The archived report gives January 11, 2024, as the online application deadline. It gives January 12, 2024, as the last date to print the completed application, while another sentence in the same report mistakenly says January 12, 2023. Treat the printing date as reported with that internal inconsistency.

Applications were submitted through UPSC’s Online Recruitment Application (ORA) system at upsconline.nic.in. The report says applicants uploaded documents supporting claims such as date of birth and experience, then printed the completed form after submission. UPSC’s current website links to its online application portal, but that portal does not reopen this expired recruitment.

What qualifications and fee did the report describe?

The archived report describes the broad educational pattern as a recognized MBBS degree plus a postgraduate degree or diploma in the relevant specialty. It gives an Anaesthesiology example, but the retrieved information does not establish all specialty-specific experience requirements, age limits, reservation provisions or relaxations. Applicants needed to consult the original advertisement for the precise conditions; these broad details should not be treated as a complete eligibility checklist.

The same report states an application fee of ₹25, with exemptions for women, SC/ST candidates and candidates with benchmark disabilities. Because the underlying 78-post UPSC advertisement was not independently retrieved, these fee details are reported rather than confirmed from the primary notice.

Is this the same as UPSC’s other 2023 Microbiology recruitment?

No. A separate UPSC Advertisement No. 11/2023 covered 26 Specialist Grade III (Microbiology or Bacteriology) posts. That is a different recruitment notice, not part of the later 78-post drive. See the separate official advertisement for its details.

Where can you look for current UPSC vacancies?

For active notices, start at UPSC’s official website and follow its recruitment links to the relevant notice and application portal. Check the notice itself for the current deadline, eligibility, fee and application instructions; the archived 78-post report is not an application route.
