The Uttarakhand Subordinate Services Selection Commission (UKSSSC) advertised 2,000 male constable posts in Advertisement No. 65/2024, published on 30 October 2024. Online applications ran from 8 to 29 November 2024. That window has closed, so this is an archive account of the recruitment: what it offered, how selection was structured, and where it stood as of October 2026.
Vacancies in the 2024 notice
The recruitment was for male Group C constables in the Uttarakhand Police Department. The official notice opens with this line: “कुल 2000 रिक्त पदों पर सीधी भर्ती हेतु ऑनलाइन आवेदन पत्र आमंत्रित किये जाते हैं।” In English, it invites online applications for direct recruitment to a total of 2,000 vacant posts.

Headlines and reports from the period use shorthand such as “2000 posts,” “Constable District Police” and “Constable PAC/IRB.” These refer to the same split.

Eligibility as reported at announcement
Contemporaneous reporting at the time of the notice summarised the basic conditions below. These are reported basics, not a substitute for the notification itself, which governs category-specific age relaxations, reservation, physical standards and all other conditions.
- Educational qualification: Intermediate (Class 12) or an equivalent qualification recognised by the Uttarakhand Board of School Education.
- Age: reported as 18 to 22 years. Relaxations for specific categories are set out in the official advertisement.
- Preference, other things being equal: candidates with at least two years of Territorial Army service or an NCC “B” certificate.
Selection process
Reporting on the notice described three stages, in this order:
- A qualifying physical standard test.
- A physical efficiency test, taken by candidates who passed the physical standard test.
- A written competitive examination, taken by candidates who cleared the physical efficiency test.
The announcement summaries did not set out the physical measurements or test parameters. Check the official advertisement for those.

Hindustan Times reported the following written-exam structure at the time of the 2024 notice. Verify these figures against the official advertisement, since press summaries can differ from the notification.

The written exam was held on 3 August 2025 and results were released on 29 December 2025, with 2,545 candidates shortlisted for document verification. UKSSSC’s results index later lists a male police constable selection recommendation dated 10 July 2026, marked “RA Related.” The index does not explain that label or the scope of the recommendation, and the entry alone does not confirm that every appointment has been finalised. To check the current position, open the linked recommendation in the results section of UKSSSC’s official website and look for any later notice from the commission.
