UPSC issued the notification on April 10, 2024, for a combined competitive examination to recruit for the two services.
What the UPSC IES/ISS 2024 notification announced
UPSC Examination Notice No. 07/2024-IES/ISS, dated April 10, 2024, announced recruitment to the Junior Time Scale of the Indian Economic Service and Indian Statistical Service. The examination was conducted under rules published by the Ministry of Statistics and Programme Implementation. The notice set April 30, 2024, at 18:00 as the last time to submit an application online. Vacancies and the difference between IES and ISS
The notice listed approximately 48 vacancies in total, divided between two services. These are recruitment vacancies, not exam scores or study findings.

Application fee and correction window reported in 2024
Contemporaneous reporting said the application correction window ran from May 1 through May 7, 2024, and summarized the fee as ₹200, with exemptions for female, SC/ST and persons with benchmark disabilities. The 2024 notice is historical. UPSC’s examination page lists a subsequent 2026 IES/ISS cycle, with notification dated February 11, 2026, applications due March 3, 2026, at 18:00, and the examination scheduled to commence June 19, 2026. These dates relate to the 2026 cycle, not the 2024 notice, and should be checked on UPSC’s examination notifications page for current status.
