Published estimates put Islam Makhachev’s UFC 302 pay at $1,842,000, Dustin Poirier’s at $1,282,000 and Sean Strickland’s at $1,221,000. UFC-FR describes its figures as estimates based on contracts and previously disclosed earnings; BetMGM repeated the same totals. They are not confirmed purse amounts or verified take-home pay: the New Jersey commission’s official event record reports results, not these fighters’ salaries.
UFC 302 reported salary estimates
The figures below are secondary-source estimates, not amounts confirmed in a commission salary schedule. UFC-FR published the estimate breakdowns on June 4, 2024; BetMGM’s June 2, 2024 article repeated the three totals. The commission record does not provide a salary comparison for these fighters.
| Fighter | Reported estimated total | UFC-FR breakdown |
|---|---|---|
| Islam Makhachev | $1,842,000 | $1,700,000 base; $42,000 incentive pay; $100,000 bonus; no PPV amount shown |
| Dustin Poirier | $1,282,000 | $1,200,000 base; $32,000 incentive pay; $50,000 bonus; no PPV amount shown |
| Sean Strickland | $1,221,000 | $1,200,000 base; $21,000 incentive pay; no bonus or PPV amount shown |
UFC-FR’s table separates base salary, incentive pay, PPV, bonus and guaranteed salary, but it does not show a PPV amount for any of these three fighters. Its introduction says the estimates draw on contract information and figures disclosed previously. BetMGM also describes Makhachev’s $100,000 as a double Fight of the Night and Performance of the Night award. Agreement between the two outlets corroborates that these totals were reported; it does not establish the underlying contract terms or confirm every form of compensation.

Are the UFC 302 salary figures official?
No official salary schedule for Makhachev, Poirier or Strickland appears in the New Jersey State Athletic Control Board’s UFC 302 event record. That record confirms the event, bouts and outcomes, but does not disclose their pay. The three totals should therefore be described as reported estimates, not as officially disclosed New Jersey purses or verified amounts received by the fighters.
The underlying contract terms, any private or discretionary compensation, and each fighter’s final amount received are not established by these sources. The estimates are historical claims published in 2024, not current salary data.
