The UPSC Detailed Application Form (DAF) window for the 2024 ESIC Nursing Officer recruitment closed on December 8, 2024. It is not open now. UPSC’s current general application portal is upsconline.nic.in, but that does not mean the old DAF is still available.
What happened in the 2024 DAF window?
Eligible candidates shortlisted after the recruitment test were asked to submit an additional Detailed Application Form. Scroll Staff reported on November 26, 2024, that the test had been held on August 7, 2024, that 3,321 candidates were shortlisted, and that the recruitment drive aimed to fill 1,930 vacancies. These figures are from Scroll’s report; the linked UPSC notice was not available for independent confirmation.
Scroll reported that candidates could submit the DAF through December 8, 2024. Its summary described visiting UPSC or its application portal, opening the DAF link, entering details, submitting the form, and retaining a printout. Those were historical steps for that window, not instructions for a currently open application.
Where to apply now
UPSC’s official Apply Online portal directs examination applicants to upsconline.nic.in. The historic 2024 DAF endpoint linked by Scroll, https://upsconline.nic.in/upsc/OTRP/index.php, returned a 404 error when checked; it is not a verified working form link. The linked official DAF notice could not be retrieved, so its document requirements should not be inferred from the news report.

For a future Nursing Officer recruitment, find the specific live notice on the official UPSC or ESIC recruitment site and follow the dates and application route stated in that notice. Do not reuse the 2024 deadline or assume a past DAF link applies to another cycle.
Do not confuse the DAF with ESIC NORCET-10
ESIC’s February 24, 2026 notice for NORCET-10 describes a separate Nursing Officer recruitment process conducted through AIIMS. It listed online registration from February 24 through March 16, 2026, through the AIIMS examinations route. Those dates concern NORCET-10, not a reopening or continuation of the UPSC 2024 DAF.

The NORCET-10 notice listed eligibility options including B.Sc. (Hons.) Nursing, regular B.Sc. Nursing, or Post Basic B.Sc. Nursing with State Nursing Council registration. It also listed a General Nursing and Midwifery diploma, State Nursing Council registration, and one year of experience in a hospital with at least 50 beds as an alternative. The notice gave a general maximum age of 30 with specified relaxations. These are NORCET-10 requirements and should not be treated as eligibility rules for the 2024 UPSC DAF.
