Neither Dricus du Plessis nor Khamzat Chimaev has a publicly confirmed salary for UFC 319. The figures circulating online are model estimates from fight-payout sites, and one of them is a bonus that is listed rather than a contract amount. As of the August 2025 reporting, no official or commission disclosure of either headliner’s purse had been published.
The short answer
UFC 319 took place on August 16, 2025, at the United Center in Chicago. Khamzat Chimaev beat Dricus du Plessis by unanimous decision to win the middleweight title, and all three judges scored the bout 50–44 (UFC official scorecards). The event details are in the UFC 319 event page.
The money question is harder. UFCalendar estimates Du Plessis’s total payout at about $1,054,000. It estimates Chimaev’s purse at about $478,000, plus a $50,000 bonus, for about $528,000 in total. UFCalendar says these purse figures are model estimates and calls them “informed speculation, not reported numbers” (UFCalendar UFC 319 payouts, dated August 17, 2025). They should not be quoted as salaries.
What is actually reported
Only one figure for either headliner is presented as an awarded amount: a $50,000 UFC performance bonus for Chimaev, as listed by Salary Sport in its 2025 event listing (Salary Sport UFC 319 fighter purses and payouts). That listing also shows $50,000 performance bonuses for Lerone Murphy, Carlos Prates, and Tim Elliott, for a combined $200,000 across the four bonuses. The same listing states that no purses were disclosed for the card.

| Fighter | Listed bonus (Salary Sport) | Estimated purse (UFCalendar model) | Estimated total (UFCalendar model) | Status |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Dricus du Plessis | Not listed in the Salary Sport bonus listing | Not separately stated | About $1,054,000 | Model estimate only; not a disclosed purse |
| Khamzat Chimaev | $50,000 performance bonus | About $478,000 | About $528,000 including the $50,000 bonus | Bonus is a listed award; purse and total are model estimates |
Du Plessis’s estimate is presented as a total payout, and UFCalendar does not break it into a purse and a bonus in the material available. Treat it as one unverified number.
How to read a fight-pay estimate
Estimates like these typically start from assumptions about a fighter’s contract and event history, which the fighter’s camp rarely publishes. Several points follow from that.

- Versatile MMA Gloves: Suitable for sparring, grappling, punching bag, Muay Thai training, and other combat sports.
- Hybrid Open Palm Design: Allows for secure grip during grappling while protecting the knuckles during strikes.
- Excellent Leather Construction: Enduring and long-lasting leather material for superior performance.
- Wrist Support: Reinforced wrist support provides stability and injury prevention during intense training.
- Unisex Sizing: Available in various sizes to accommodate both men and women fighters.
- Estimate versus disclosure. A model estimate can be wrong in either direction. Only a figure that a promotion, a commission, or the fighter has put on the record should be called a salary.
- Gross versus take-home. Published figures are usually gross amounts. Agent and manager commissions, taxes, and training or camp costs all reduce what a fighter keeps. None of these deductions is quantified for either fighter in the sources available.
- Bonuses versus purse. A listed bonus is one component. Adding a bonus to an estimated purse gives an estimated total, not a confirmed one.
- Date of reporting. The figures above come from reporting dated August 2025. A later contract, dispute, or disclosure could change what is known.
A checklist before you repeat a fighter’s pay figure
- Is the number labeled as disclosed, listed, estimated, or modeled?
- Does the source name the fighter, the event, and the date?
- Is it a purse, a bonus, or a total? If a total, is the calculation shown?
- Is it stated before or after agent fees and taxes?
- Does the source say how it arrived at the number?
Applying this checklist to the UFC 319 figures leaves the $50,000 Chimaev bonus as the one listed award. The $1,054,000 and $528,000 totals are estimates, and the $478,000 Chimaev purse is also an estimate.
