One published estimate put Sean O’Malley’s UFC 299 earnings at $1,095,000, including estimated pay-per-view compensation, and Marlon Vera’s at $182,000. Those are secondary estimates, not confirmed totals: another payout aggregation reports a different amount for Vera, and no primary document here verifies either fighter’s complete compensation.
What did O’Malley and Vera reportedly earn at UFC 299?
UFC Fans listed an estimated total of $1,095,000 for O’Malley and $182,000 for Vera. Its breakdown for O’Malley was $350,000 in base pay, $42,000 in incentive pay, $650,000 in estimated pay-per-view pay, and a $50,000 bonus. For Vera, it listed $150,000 in base pay and $32,000 in incentive pay. These figures are the publisher’s estimates, not an official accounting of either fighter’s compensation. Why the figures are not confirmed purse totals
A separate UFCalendar payout aggregation reports Vera at $250,000, or $282,000 including reported additional pay. It does not match the UFC Fans estimate, and the available information does not establish that the sources use the same definitions or include the same kinds of compensation. “Purse” can refer to a disclosed bout payment, while a fighter’s full compensation may include other contract-specific or discretionary amounts. No primary document located for these figures confirms each fighter’s complete UFC 299 compensation. Florida’s 2024 statute requires a manager to furnish the participant a distribution statement and the participant’s purse share within 24 hours after receiving them from the promoter, unless the commission directs otherwise. Event result and gate are separate from fighter pay
UFC 299 took place at Miami’s Kaseya Center on March 9, 2024. O’Malley defeated Vera by unanimous decision and retained the bantamweight title; the official scorecards were 50-45, 50-45, and 50-44. UFC 299 official event page.
At the post-fight press conference, UFC CEO Dana White reported a $14.14 million gate and 19,265 attendees. UFC described the event as a sellout and, at the time, the arena’s highest-grossing event.
