What is U2’s net worth? There is no verified, current figure for the band collectively or for Bono, The Edge, Adam Clayton and Larry Mullen Jr. individually in the sources reviewed. Public reporting does document company accounts and major tour sales, but neither tells you the members’ personal net worth.
What does “U2 net worth” mean?
U2 is the band formed in Dublin in 1976 by Bono, The Edge, Adam Clayton and Larry Mullen Jr., according to the official band history. The phrase “U2 net worth” can mean the wealth of those four people, their combined personal wealth, or the finances of a company associated with the band. Those are different questions.

Personal net worth is the value of a person’s assets minus liabilities. A band company’s accounts, a year’s earnings, or gross ticket sales do not provide that calculation. The sources reviewed do not establish an audited current net-worth total for U2 or a member-by-member ranking.
What do the latest reported company accounts show?
A report by The Irish Times on October 6, 2025, covering accounts for the year ended 2024, says Not Us Limited recorded a €1.4 million loss for the year and had accumulated losses of €25.4 million. The report says Bono, The Edge, Larry Mullen and Adam Clayton each own one quarter of the company.
#1 Best Overall
Those figures describe Not Us Limited, not the members’ personal finances. Equal shares in that company do not establish that every band asset, income stream or personal asset is owned equally. The report also discusses intercompany balances, loans and asset book values; these company-level accounting details cannot be converted into a personal-wealth estimate.
The same report says U2 Limited, a subsidiary holding music licence rights, received a €3.2 million advance from the members. That is a reported company-related transaction, not a disclosed valuation of their wealth.

Do U2’s Sphere sales establish its net worth?
No. The Irish Times report says U2’s late-2023 and early-2024 Sphere residency generated more than $230 million (€195 million) in gross sales and sold more than 630,000 tickets, citing Billboard. These are reported sales and attendance figures—not profit, the band’s take-home earnings, or the value of the members’ assets.
Gross ticket sales do not account for the costs and arrangements behind a residency, nor do they show how proceeds were distributed among performers, companies and other parties. Without that information, sales cannot be treated as personal income or net worth.

What does the historical $195 million figure represent?
Guinness World Records attributes an estimated $195 million in annual earnings to U2 in 2011, citing Forbes Celebrity 100 figures and earnings derived from the band’s 2010 360° Tour. It is a historical annual-earnings estimate—not a current net-worth figure and not a valuation of Bono or all four members’ assets.
For scale, TIME’s September 18, 2014 profile reported that more than seven million tickets had been sold on the 360° Tour by its conclusion in 2011. Ticket sales and annual earnings describe activity over a period; neither establishes how much wealth remains after expenses, taxes, liabilities and later changes.
Independent reader supportYour contribution helps us test, update, and keep practical guides available for everyone. Why can’t album sales or company assets fill the gap?
Touring is only one part of a major band’s commercial activity. TIME’s 2014 profile describes income channels including merchandise, promotional tie-ups, synchronization fees for television, film, video games and advertising, as well as live performance. That historical account shows why album sales alone would not capture the full picture, but it does not quantify U2’s current income or royalties.
Company asset book values are also not a shortcut to personal wealth. The Irish Times report lists selected company assets, including musical equipment and music master recordings. Accounting values can be reduced by depreciation and do not necessarily reflect commercial rights value; in any case, they do not measure a member’s entire estate.

- The original Joshua Tree album on CD
U2’s official chronology records releases and related activity, including the 2014 distribution of Songs of Innocence to iTunes customers and its later CD and vinyl release, as well as later music and Bono’s memoir. Such career history does not establish present-day royalty income or personal wealth. Bono’s memoir, Surrender: 40 Songs, One Story, was released in November 2022; it offers personal and band-history context, not financial verification. U2’s official history documents the release.
Quick Recap
How to read claims about U2 wealth
- Check the subject: Is the figure about U2 as a company, the band collectively, Bono, or another member?
- Check the measure: Annual earnings, gross tour receipts, company losses and personal net worth are not interchangeable.
- Check the date and basis: A historical estimate does not become current simply because it is repeated, and company accounts are not personal asset-and-liability statements.
- Treat celebrity-wealth rankings cautiously: Unless a publication explains whose wealth it estimates, when it was estimated and what it includes, the number should not be presented as verified.
