The often-repeated $5.5 million price, however, comes from a 2022 TMZ report and is not confirmed by a purchase record or by Bugatti. The available accounts also differ on the car’s precise model name.
Did Travis Scott buy the Bugatti in “GATTI”?
According to Complex’s 2025 recap of an interview, Scott said borrowing a Bugatti for the video would have felt inauthentic, so he decided to get one. He recalled telling Pop Smoke at the shoot, “Yeah bro, I just got it like a week ago.” That account places the purchase about a week before filming, but it is Scott’s recollection as relayed by Complex—not a publicly documented transaction.
Complex identifies the car as a Bugatti Chiron. Its account supports saying Scott said he bought the car seen in the video; it does not independently establish the vehicle’s ownership history or purchase terms. Read Complex’s interview recap.
Was Travis Scott’s Bugatti really $5.5 million?
TMZ reported on June 21, 2022, that the Bugatti associated with Scott cost $5.5 million. Complex’s 2025 headline and deck instead refer to $5 million. Neither source supplies a purchase document, and the reviewed reporting does not reconcile the different figures. The exact transaction price is therefore not established; $5.5 million should be described as TMZ’s reported figure, not a verified amount Scott paid. See TMZ’s report.

Which Bugatti model was it?
The model naming is inconsistent. Complex calls Scott’s car a Bugatti Chiron, while TMZ describes it as a “Veyron Chiron Super Sport.” That is TMZ’s wording, not a model identification confirmed by Bugatti in the available sources. Calling it a Chiron, with the attribution to Complex, avoids presenting the more specific disputed label as settled fact.
How rare was the car—and what does “one of one” mean?
TMZ said 30 examples of the car it described were made. The report does not state the basis for that count, so it should be treated as a reported production figure rather than an independently verified total.

Bugatti’s use of “one-of-one” refers to a different car, Brouillard. In 2025, the company described Brouillard as the first one-off creation from its Programme Solitaire; Bugatti reported handing it over to its owner in September 2026. That bespoke status is not evidence that Scott’s Chiron was unique. A limited production run and a one-off commission are distinct kinds of rarity. Bugatti’s Brouillard announcement.

Bugatti lists combined WLTP fuel consumption of 21.5 l/100 km and CO₂ emissions of 487 g/km for the Chiron Super Sport model line. Those are manufacturer-published figures for the model line, not measurements of Scott’s individual car or a record of how he drove it. Bugatti’s Chiron Super Sport specifications.
