The advertised amounts are category ceilings, not guaranteed offers: enter your old product’s serial number in Bose’s trade-in flow to see whether it qualifies, what replacements are available, and what you would pay.
How much is your Bose trade-in worth?
Bose advertises trade-in credits of up to $150 for headphones, $100 for earbuds, $300 for soundbars, and $200 for Bluetooth or Wi-Fi speakers. SoundTouch products have a separate speaker-category ceiling of up to $200. Those are maximums, not promises: the actual offer depends on the old product and the selected replacement, and Bose says offers can change or end without notice. Check Bose’s current trade-in offer with your serial number.
The credit applies only to a qualifying new Bose purchase through the program. Bose does not offer cash instead, and the program is available only to customers in the United States and Canada. The published overview does not establish that every customer will see the same replacement options or value.
Does Bose accept your old headphones or other product?
Bose publishes lists of legacy models that may qualify, but it warns that eligible-device lists can vary. Treat the lists below as a guide to what to look up, not a guarantee. The serial-number flow determines whether your specific device has an offer.

How to trade in a Bose product
- Find the serial number. Look on the product or its original box; in some cases it may also appear in the Bose app.
- Enter it in Bose’s trade-in flow. Review the specific credit and the new products available for your device. Do not rely on the category maximum when calculating your costs.
- Compare the full purchase terms. Check the replacement’s price and availability, the amount due after credit, and the final-sale restrictions below. Bose says eGift Cards are not accepted as payment.
- Complete the order only if the terms work for you. Bose says it emails an order confirmation, prepaid UPS label, and shipping instructions after the order. Use its shipping process to send the old device.
- Allow time for delivery and processing. Bose estimates the new product typically ships within 3–4 days after the old product arrives. It says the overall process typically takes a couple of weeks, depending in part on how quickly you send the device; these are estimates, not a service guarantee.
Know the restrictions before ordering
- The credit applies only to a new purchase made through Bose’s trade-in program; it cannot be taken as cash or used to cover taxes.
- Bose says trade-in value cannot be combined with other promotions or discounts.
- Trade-in purchases are final sale and cannot be returned or exchanged. Warranty service still applies.
- Once sent, the traded-in product will not be returned.
- If Bose does not receive the old product within 90 days, it says the order will be cancelled.
- Offers depend on availability and may change without notice.
Because the purchase is final sale, check the available replacement and the amount due before completing the order—not after mailing your old device.
What SoundTouch owners should know
Bose says support for all SoundTouch products will be discontinued as of February 18, 2026. Its transition page says the SoundTouch app and some product features no longer function after that date. Eligible customers in select regions can enter specific SoundTouch products into Bose’s trade-in process: SoundTouch 10, 20, 30, Portable, Wave Music System, Stereo JC, SA4, SA5, and SoundTouch Soundbar 300. Bose describes possible upgrade directions that include smart speakers and soundbars, Bluetooth speakers, and noise-cancelling headphones. It lists features of newer smart speakers such as SimpleSync, Alexa and Google Home voice assistants, Apple AirPlay 2, and control through the Bose app; features vary by replacement model, so verify the specific product before choosing.

Bose says its consumer-audio product documentation provides recycling and disposal information. Its FY2023 ESG report also says it inspects, repairs as needed, cleans, and tests returned products for resale on Bose’s website. Bose reported that 48% of products returned by customers or resellers across varied product types were resold during Fiscal Year 2023, which ran April 1, 2022–March 31, 2023.
