The title “These Famous Alleged Freemasons Are All Billionaires” is also the title of a TheRichest YouTube video published March 7, 2024. Its description names Jay-Z and Warren Buffett as subjects of speculation, but does not establish that either man is a Freemason or substantiate the video’s wealth claims. The available information is not enough to confirm the title’s premise.

What the video description does—and does not—say

TheRichest’s description frames links between wealthy people and Freemasonry as speculation and names Jay-Z and Warren Buffett. That wording matters: “alleged” signals an unverified claim, not confirmed membership. The description available at the exact-title YouTube result does not provide evidence for either allegation.

The video page could not be reviewed beyond its search-result metadata and description. As a result, the complete roster, the evidence presented for each person, and the basis for describing the subjects as billionaires are not established here. No dated ranking or other source verifying the wealth status of either named person is available to support the title’s “all billionaires” claim.

Is Warren Buffett a Freemason?

The material available for this fact-check does not prove that Warren Buffett is a Freemason. It also does not establish that he is not one. The video description’s mention of him as a subject of speculation is not membership evidence, and omission from a historical membership list would not prove non-membership.

Is Jay-Z a Freemason?

The same standard applies to Jay-Z: the available description does not prove membership, and the evidence reviewed does not establish that he is or is not a Freemason. A claim in a video description, without a supporting record or first-person confirmation, should remain an allegation.

What evidence can establish Freemason membership?

Specific, attributable records are more useful than symbols, online rumors, or a person’s association with someone who is a Mason. The United Grand Lodge of England’s historical profiles, for example, document members including Prince Philip, Ernest Shackleton, Rudyard Kipling, and Alexander Fleming with particulars such as lodge names or numbers, initiation dates, degree progression, offices, and duration of membership. Those profiles illustrate what substantiated historical documentation can look like; they say nothing by themselves about unrelated living people.

  • First-party confirmation: a clear statement by the person about their own membership.
  • Official documentation: a lodge or organizational record that identifies the member and, where available, a lodge and relevant dates.
  • Time and context: evidence that clarifies when membership began or ended, rather than implying current membership from an old record.
  • Independent corroboration: reliable reporting that identifies the underlying evidence, rather than repeating an unsourced claim.

UGLE’s “Points of Procedure: Grand Lodge” guidance says: “Every Mason is free to reveal his own Masonic membership, except when it might appear that business, professional or personal advantage is thereby being sought for himself or another.” This concerns a member’s ability to disclose their own membership; it does not verify claims made by others.

Does the title establish that every subject is a billionaire?

No. The available description does not supply a dated, reputable source for the net worth or billionaire status of each person it discusses. A sound check would need to identify each subject and cite a source dated to the relevant period, while making clear what ranking method and geographic scope it uses. No wealth figures should be inferred from this description alone.

What remains unverified

  • The complete list of people featured in the video.
  • The membership evidence, if any, the video presents for each person.
  • Whether Jay-Z or Warren Buffett has confirmed membership or appears in an official record relevant to the claim.
  • The source, date, and ranking method behind the video’s claim that all its subjects are billionaires.
