Roblox’s goal is for 10% of global gaming content revenue to flow through its platform and be distributed to creators—not a claim that it already has that share. The company connected the ambition to its longer-term vision of reaching one billion daily active users, but has set no deadline for that user milestone in the cited materials.
What Roblox means by a 10% share
At Roblox Developers Conference (RDC) 2024, founder and CEO David Baszucki described the ambition as a “next stepping stone” toward one billion daily active users. In Roblox’s September 6, 2024 announcement, he wrote: “At RDC, we are sharing the next stepping stone on our path to 1 billion daily active users: We believe 10% of all gaming content revenue will flow through the Roblox ecosystem and be distributed within our community of creators.” Roblox’s RDC 2024 announcement frames this as a belief and goal, not a forecast or an achieved result.
The wording matters. In 2024, Roblox specified “gaming content revenue.” Later shareholder materials used related but not identical labels: “global gaming content market” and “global gaming revenue.” Those terms should not be treated as interchangeable without a stated methodology.
How far Roblox says it has progressed
Roblox has reported progress toward the ambition, but its figures refer to different periods and market labels. They are company estimates, not independent measurements of market share.

The reported 3.4% and “nearly 4%” figures use different wording and reporting dates. They are not a precise, like-for-like time series. Roblox’s filings do not establish a neutral market-sizing method or an independent estimate of the goal’s likelihood.
What the company says could drive growth
Roblox describes its platform as an integrated system for game discovery, creation, safety and virtual commerce. Its Q2 2026 shareholder letter argued that this breadth supports the 10% ambition and pointed to growth opportunities among users over 18 and in “novel” games. These are management’s strategic arguments, not independent validation that the company will reach its target.

The strategy depends on several things working together: attracting and retaining users, keeping them engaged, bringing creators and compelling experiences to the platform, and successfully monetizing activity. Expanding among older users is another stated opportunity; it does not by itself establish how much additional revenue Roblox can capture.
Creator commerce and earnings
At RDC 2024, Roblox announced creator commerce initiatives, changes to revenue shares for paid access, and a creator affiliate program. It also announced plans for creators to sell physical merchandise inside experiences through e-commerce integrations, naming Shopify as its first partner. Platform revenue and creator earnings are related, but they are not the same measure. At RDC 2025, Roblox said creators had earned more than $1 billion through DevEx over the preceding year. That is the company’s statement about creator payouts through its Developer Exchange program, not a measure of all revenue routed through Roblox or a direct confirmation of the 10% target. One billion users is a vision, not a dated forecast
Roblox’s 2025 annual filing describes its mission as connecting a billion users with optimism and civility. The company has presented one billion as a mission-scale objective, but the cited materials provide no deadline for reaching it. Roblox reported 123 million daily active users in Q2 2026. In its Q1 2026 letter, it reported 132 million average daily active users. Those are separate period-specific disclosures, and the company’s reported figures should not be combined or described as one simultaneous user count. - User counts, platform revenue, bookings, market share and creator payouts measure different things. For example, Roblox reported $1.4 billion in revenue and $1.7 billion in bookings in Q1 2026; neither figure is a creator-earnings total or market-share calculation. Taken together, the disclosures show Roblox’s scale and the company’s rationale for pursuing a larger share of gaming activity. They do not independently verify the size of the global market denominator, establish that the reported market-share figures are directly comparable, or show that Roblox is on a defined timetable to reach either 10% or one billion users.
