The HPSC answer key released in May 2023 was for the HCS (Executive Branch) and Allied Services Preliminary Examination 2022, held on 21 May 2023. It covered General Studies and CSAT. It is not the key for the separate HCS Examination 2023 cycle, whose prelims took place on 11 February 2024.
Which HPSC HCS answer key do you need?
HPSC’s “2022” and “2023” labels refer to separate recruitment cycles, so match the key to your exam date before opening or using it.

How the May 2023 key was accessed
The reported historical route began on HPSC’s website at hpsc.gov.in. Candidates were directed to the answer-key link under “Important Links,” then to a linked assessment portal where they signed in with their roll number and date of birth to view or download the key.
This is a historical access route, not confirmation that the old portal or login still works. The cited report linked the portal at the HPSC site; current availability of the direct assessment-portal address is not established here. If the link is no longer listed, check HPSC’s official website for any archived notice or contact information rather than relying on an old third-party link.
Objections to the 2023 release are closed
HPSC’s announcement dated 23 May 2023 instructed candidates to use the standard question booklet and standard answer key when raising objections. The online objection window ran from 24 May through 26 May 2023, until 11:59 PM. Objections sent by other modes were not entertained.
The commission’s announcement, as reproduced in a hosted copy, stated: “A fee of Rs. 250/- will have to be paid for each objection.” This was the fee per objection for the 2023 notice, not a current fee schedule. The deadline has passed. The reproduced notice is available as a copy of the HPSC announcement.

Scroll.in reported 95 vacancies for the recruitment drive associated with the May 2023 preliminary exam. That figure applies to that cycle; it should not be carried over to HCS Examination 2023. Utkarsh Classes reported 121 vacancies for the separate 2023 recruitment cycle, but the publication date for that page is not shown.
