Who Are the Richest U.S. Big Brother Contestants? Show Winnings vs. Net Worth

Rick Devens leads TV Insider’s reported U.S. Big Brother winnings tally, but prize money is not the same as personal net worth.

If “richest” means reported winnings from the CBS U.S. Big Brother franchise, Rick Devens leads the latest ranking, with $810,000 in show-related prizes, according to TV Insider’s October 5, 2026 calculation. That is not a personal net-worth figure: no comparable, audited balance sheets establish which contestant has the most wealth. Figures for other Big Brother franchises, including Big Brother Naija and India’s separately branded Bigg Boss, would require a different ranking and currency.

Who has the most reported Big Brother winnings?

TV Insider’s October 5, 2026 ranking puts Rick Devens first among the U.S. franchise figures it tallies. The amounts below are reported show winnings, not contestants’ assets minus debts, and the list should not be read as a definitive personal-wealth ranking.

Contestant Reported Big Brother winnings What the figure includes
Rick Devens $810,000 Season 28 grand prize, America’s Favorite Houseguest award, and a temptation competition, according to TV Insider.
Taylor Hale $800,000 Season 24 grand prize and America’s Favorite Houseguest award, according to TV Insider.
Jag Bains $758,500 Big Brother winnings, according to TV Insider. The outlet also notes that Bains won The Amazing Race 38 with his brother; that separate prize is not part of this Big Brother-only total.

The ranking is a tally of known prizes and related awards. It does not establish how much any contestant earned from other work, owns, owes, or has spent.

Why a winnings ranking is not a net-worth ranking

Net worth is the value of a person’s assets minus liabilities. A prize tally is only one component of someone’s financial picture, and it cannot show what remains after taxes, expenses, investments, or debts. The TV Insider figures answer a narrower question: how much the outlet calculates these contestants received in Big Brother-related winnings.

Published celebrity net-worth figures are estimates rather than verified personal financial statements. Celebrity Net Worth says its estimates draw on public sources and may also use private tips or representatives; it characterizes estimates as such unless stated otherwise. That caveat makes online net-worth lists useful, at most, as rough claims—not proof of who is wealthiest.

What older net-worth estimates say—and what they do not prove

A 2015 GOBankingRates roundup, citing CelebrityNetWorth, listed Will Kirby at an estimated $5 million, Rachel Reilly at $500,000, Dick Donato at $300,000, Andy Herren at $250,000, and Jordan Lloyd at $300,000. Those are dated secondary estimates, not current verified figures, and they should not be directly compared with the more recent winnings totals.

Celebrity Net Worth currently gives Rachel Reilly and Brendon Villegas a combined estimated net worth of $1.5 million. That is a household estimate for the couple, not an individual figure for either spouse, and it remains an estimate rather than an audited disclosure.

Julie Chen should not appear in a contestant ranking: GOBankingRates identifies her as the show’s host and notes that she never lived in the Big Brother house.

Season prize changes complicate winner comparisons

TV Insider reports that the grand prize rose from $500,000 to $750,000 after Season 22. A winner from a later season therefore had a larger stated grand prize available than winners from earlier seasons, even before additional awards or competition prizes are counted. A comparison across seasons needs to account for that change rather than treating every winner’s grand-prize opportunity as identical.

How to read “richest Big Brother contestant” lists

  • Check the franchise: These figures concern the CBS U.S. series; they do not establish a worldwide ranking across Big Brother Naija, Bigg Boss, or other adaptations.
  • Check the measure: A show-winnings total is not personal net worth. Do not place one next to an estimated household net worth as if they were comparable.
  • Check the date and source: A dated estimate can become stale, while a current prize tally still does not reveal a contestant’s full finances.
  • Keep cross-show prizes separate: Jag Bains’s The Amazing Race win is not part of his reported Big Brother winnings.
