Choose the right gift-card format
| Format | Best suited to | Handoff |
|---|---|---|
| Amazon Printable Gift Card | A paper gift card you can give in person | Order it through the printable listing and follow Amazon’s current delivery and printing instructions. |
| Amazon eGift Card | Sending a gift electronically | Amazon lists email or text delivery as options. |
| Physical gift card | Giving a tangible card | Choose one of the physical-card formats listed in Amazon’s catalog. |
The format names and delivery distinctions are listed in Amazon’s catalog, accessed October 8, 2026. If you want the recipient to receive the gift electronically, choose an eGift Card rather than printing a card. If you want to hand over a tangible card, compare the printable and physical-card options.

Once printed, treat the card and its claim code like cash. Amazon warns against sharing gift-card details with people you do not know or trust; scammers may ask for claim codes or photos of physical cards. Keep the printed card private until you give it to the intended recipient.
