DoorDash emails eligible U.S. and Canadian Dashers an annual mileage estimate by January 31. Check the email address linked to your Dasher account and search for DoorDash mileage or tax messages. Treat the number as an estimate, not a complete personal mileage log.
Where to find your DoorDash mileage estimate
DoorDash says it emails the estimate to Dashers who were active during the year, dashed by car, and had mileage while making deliveries. Look in your inbox, spam folder, and archived mail for messages about DoorDash mileage or taxes. The January 31 timing and eligibility details are described in DoorDash’s mileage and tax FAQ.
The estimate is DoorDash-calculated mileage; DoorDash does not describe it as a year-round, odometer-based log in the app. It can be a useful reference, but it is not the same record as tracking your own business driving as you go.
Can the Dasher app show your miles?
The app can help you review delivery activity, but DoorDash’s instructions do not say that it provides a total mileage record. To see completed deliveries:
#1 Best Overall
- Open the Dasher app and tap Earnings.
- Select the relevant week.
- Tap a Dash to see the individual deliveries listed for it.
DoorDash explains this history view in its delivery-history instructions. It can help you review which Dashes you worked, but it does not establish the odometer miles driven for those deliveries.
What to do if you cannot find the email
- Check whether you were active during the delivery year, dashed by car, and had on-delivery mileage—the conditions DoorDash names for receiving an estimate.
- Search the email account associated with your Dasher profile, including spam and archived mail.
- Review the relevant weeks and Dashes under Earnings if you need to inspect your delivery history.
- If you still cannot access the information, use DoorDash’s help and support channels. Its published guidance does not promise that support can recreate a complete personal mileage log.
How to keep a useful mileage record going forward
For future trips, keep a timely record of business mileage rather than relying only on an annual estimate. The IRS’s example daily log in Publication 463 includes the date, destination, business purpose, odometer reading at the start and end, miles for the trip, and expense details. The publication says a computer-prepared record can count as a record and discusses retaining written records and supporting evidence.

- GET THE BEST DEDUCTION: 588 entries capture the date, odometer readings, total miles and business purpose—everything you need to document business use for the IRS
- SUMMARIES MAKE TAX TIME EASY: Annual summary pages hold monthly mile totals to calculate percentage of business use; monthly maintenance totals help you deduct unreimbursed vehicle expenses
- INCLUDES 6 RECEIPT POCKETS: Don’t forget to save receipts; you get 2 double-sided pockets for oil changes and other service; 2 pockets for repairs, and 2 pockets for parking and tolls
- KEEP IT IN THE CAR: This portable 5-1/4 x 8-1/4 booklet was meant to travel with you; keep one in each glove compartment for a complete record of business use
A paper log or a mileage-tracking app can help capture those details. DoorDash’s mileage support category lists “Track mileage with Everlance” as one option; that listing does not establish current pricing or guarantee any particular features. Whichever method you use, keep records that reflect your own business driving and retain them with relevant supporting evidence.
