There is no single Philips CPAP settlement amount, and the title alone cannot establish your personal award. The amount depends first on which program and country your claim belongs to, then on eligibility, approved claim details, allocation rules and possible deductions. Use the determination notice from the relevant administrator—or your lawyer’s disbursement statement—for your own amount.
Which Philips settlement are you asking about?
Several separate programs are often described as the “Philips CPAP settlement.” They cover different losses and use different rules. Do not use an amount or deadline from one program to estimate a claim in another.
| Program | What it covers | How an amount is determined |
|---|---|---|
| Canada: Morel and Roy economic-loss partial settlement | Qualifying economic loss related to recalled devices | A conditional schedule, subject to approved claim details and the number of claims |
| United States: personal-injury settlement | Qualifying personal-injury claims from eligible U.S. citizens or residents who meet program requirements | Individual allocation methodology; no universal per-person amount |
| United States: economic-loss/device settlement | Eligible claims under a separate U.S. device settlement | Device payment and, for eligible users who met the return deadline, a possible $100 Device Return Award |
For the U.S. personal-injury program, the administrator’s FAQ reports a $1.075 billion settlement amount. Philips’s May 6, 2025 FAQ describes capped funding of USD 1.1 billion. These are program-level funding descriptions, not estimates of an individual check; consult the relevant program document if the precise fund accounting matters. Canada: what the economic-loss schedule says
Class counsel’s FAQ lists a $125 Universal Device Payment for inconvenience, plus up to the applicable amount below for each device purchased to replace a recalled product. The figures are conditional schedule amounts, not guaranteed awards. The FAQ warns that payments may vary with the number of claimants and depend on replacement-device claims. The FAQ page does not state a publication year. Class counsel FAQ.

These figures do not let you calculate a personal award on their own. Your approved devices, replacement-device claim and the final allocation based on approved claims affect what is payable. In a March 24, 2026 update, class counsel said KPMG must determine approved-claim counts in each category and calculate the payable amounts before issuing payments. Class counsel update, March 24, 2026.
Filing status and payment timing
KPMG says the Canadian claim deadline was March 7, 2026, the claim period has ended, and no new claims are being accepted. Submitted claims are under review. KPMG says approved payments will begin in May 2026, by e-Transfer or cheque, and approved claimants will receive a determination notice identifying the devices approved. That general schedule is not an individual payment date. KPMG settlement website.

United States: personal-injury claims
The U.S. personal-injury program is separate from both the Canadian partial settlement and the U.S. economic-loss/device settlement. It is for eligible U.S. citizens or residents who meet the program’s injury and enrollment requirements. Its fixed fund is allocated using an individual methodology; the administrator does not publish one amount that applies to every claimant. Personal Injury Settlement Program FAQ.

For represented claimants, the administrator sends the award determination and payment to primary counsel, who handles disbursement to the client. Pro se claimants receive a determination through the secure portal and payment by mailed check. Medical liens related to injury treatment may also be asserted, so the gross award may differ from the amount ultimately received. Check the award notice, counsel’s disbursement statement and lien information to understand your net payment. Administrator FAQ on payment and liens.

A separate U.S. CPAP MDL economic-loss settlement provides for device payment awards and, for eligible users who returned a recalled device by the specified deadline, a $100 Device Return Award. Those terms belong to that U.S. settlement only; they do not apply to Canadian claims or the U.S. personal-injury program. Check the settlement’s official FAQ for its eligibility terms and deadlines. How to find your own amount
- Identify the program. Check the country and claim type stated on your claim confirmation or settlement notice: Canadian economic loss, U.S. personal injury, or U.S. economic loss/device.
- Use the official claimant channel. For Canada, check your KPMG claim status and determination notice. For a U.S. personal-injury claim, use the administrator’s secure portal or ask your primary counsel. For a U.S. economic-loss claim, use that settlement’s administrator information.
- Read the determination, not just the schedule or fund headline. Confirm which devices or injuries were approved, the award amount and any payment instructions.
- Check deductions before treating the gross award as take-home money. If represented, review your counsel’s disbursement statement; for personal-injury claims, check for applicable medical liens and other deductions.
