You usually do not need to convert a Visa gift card into another balance to get Robux. Sign in to Roblox in a web browser and try the card at checkout as a prepaid credit card. Roblox lists prepaid credit cards as a payment option for browser purchases, but it does not guarantee that every card issuer will approve a transaction.
Can you use a Visa gift card to buy Robux?
Roblox lists prepaid credit cards among the payment methods available in its browser app. That means you can try your Visa gift card directly when purchasing Robux; there is no general Roblox conversion step. Whether the payment succeeds depends on authorization, and Roblox’s payment-method guidance does not promise acceptance by every issuer. See Roblox’s list of payment methods.
How to try your Visa gift card at Roblox checkout
- Open Roblox in a web browser and sign in to the account that should receive the Robux.
- Open the Robux purchase flow and choose the option to buy Robux.
- At checkout, select the prepaid-card payment option and enter the Visa gift card details.
- Review the purchase and submit it. If Roblox declines the payment, check the card issuer’s instructions and contact the issuer if needed. The issuer may have requirements or restrictions for online purchases; Roblox’s general payment guidance does not specify issuer-specific rules.
If the Visa card is declined: use Roblox Credit
A Roblox gift card is a separate fallback, not a way to transfer or convert the Visa card’s balance. Buy a Roblox gift card through Roblox or a retailer it identifies as authorized, then redeem it to add Roblox Credit. Avoid unauthorized sellers: Roblox says cards from unauthorized sellers or resellers are not valid. Redeem the Roblox gift card in a browser
- In a web browser, sign in to the Roblox account where you want the credit.
- Go to Roblox.com/redeem, enter the gift card code, and redeem it.
- If redemption fails, check the code for commonly confused characters. If the problem remains, contact Roblox Support.

Spend the credit on Robux
After redemption, open the Roblox purchase page in a browser, choose Get Robux, and complete the purchase if your Roblox Credit covers it. Credit cannot be spent in Roblox apps, and Roblox does not allow a purchase to be split between Credit and another payment method. Details are in Managing and spending your Roblox Credit.

Roblox says its Gifting Robux checkout does not accept prepaid cards, so it is not an alternative way to spend the Visa gift card.
