- March 13, 2026: iPhone in Canada reported that Freedom had brought back a $40/250GB roaming plan for a limited time. That is historical reporting, not confirmation of October availability.
- August 18, 2026: iTechGuides reported that the promotion was not clearly shown on the public plan pages it checked and that availability was unconfirmed at that time.
- September 29, 2026: A Reddit discussion described a selected-customer, invite-only 250GB offer at $50 per month. That anecdote does not establish a public offer or the terms of a $40 plan.
Because the reports concern different dates and potentially different customer offers, they do not establish that the plan is back for everyone, that the $50 invite-only offer replaced it, or that either offer is available to you.

What does 250GB and “unlimited” data mean?
Freedom’s data policy says full-speed data allowances depend on the plan. Once a plan’s allowance is used, data continues at reduced speeds until the current billing cycle ends, without data overage fees. “Unlimited” therefore does not mean unlimited full-speed data.
Freedom’s policy lists different reduced-speed limits on Freedom’s own network and partner networks. The exact speeds and allowance applicable to this offer are not established by the available offer information. Compare the specific terms in your official offer with the plan you have now, using the same customer profile. A headline price and data figure are not enough to establish which plan costs less or fits your usage.
- Monthly cost: Calculate the amount after any required discounts, and check whether each credit continues or ends after a set period.
- Data: Confirm the full-speed allowance and the reduced speeds that apply after it is consumed.
- Roaming: Verify the named destinations and allowances. The March report’s description of a roaming plan does not establish which roaming terms apply to a current offer.
- Eligibility and devices: Check whether the offer is for new lines, existing customers, invited customers or a particular device arrangement.
- Coverage: Consider service on Freedom and partner networks in the places you live and travel; the plan’s advertised data amount does not answer a local coverage question.
- Deadline: Rely on an expiry date only if it appears in the current official offer or checkout terms.
If the exact price, credits or included services are missing from the checkout details, ask Freedom to confirm them before you authorize the switch. Do not base a financial decision on an old promotion or a report about another customer’s invitation.
