These figures are Forbes Brasil’s dated estimates from March 10, 2026, not live October 2026 net-worth totals. The ranking below concerns individual fortunes linked to confectionery businesses—not combined family wealth or company sales.

Forbes reports that John and Jacqueline inherited stakes in Mars after their father died in 1999. Their grandfather, Frank Mars, founded the company in 1911. Jacqueline had a long tenure at the company and served on its board through 2016. Forbes’s March 2026 article also reports that Ferrero generates about $20 billion annually; that is the article’s reported figure, not an audited current update. Why is there no definitive fourth- and fifth-place ranking?
Forbes attributes the remaining Mars ownership to the four daughters of the late Forrest Mars Jr. But the evidence available does not provide comparable current estimates for all four, so it cannot support naming one person as the definitive fourth- or fifth-richest candy billionaire.

One Forbes profile puts Pamela Mars’s real-time net worth at $12.6 billion as of October 7, 2026, and says she inherited an estimated 8% stake. That is a dated profile figure for one heir, not enough to rank all four daughters against one another. Forbes’s Pamela Mars profile.
The uncertainty has a business reason: Mars is privately held. Bloomberg says the family is the company’s sole shareholder according to private-company filings, but Mars declined to comment on the individual shareholder breakdown. Bloomberg’s estimate assumes one-third stakes for John, Jacqueline and Forrest Jr., with Forrest Jr.’s portion subsequently divided among his four daughters. Is Giovanni Ferrero richer than the Mars family?
In the March 10, 2026 Forbes snapshot, Ferrero’s estimated $48.8 billion is slightly below each of John Mars’s and Jacqueline Mars’s $49.1 billion individual estimates. That comparison is person-to-person; it does not compare Ferrero with the Mars family as a whole or combine the Mars heirs’ fortunes. The Mars estimates are tied to stakes in a private company, so ownership allocations and valuation involve estimation uncertainty.

These are company figures, not the owners’ personal fortunes. FoodNavigator notes that Mars’s sales figures are estimates because they remain private and “may vary because figures remain private.” Mars also spans more than candy: Bloomberg reports $54.6 billion in 2024 revenue for Mars Inc., citing a bond prospectus issued in early 2025; the company includes gum, packaged foods and pet products as well as confectionery.
