Yes. BMW of North America reported 18,680 BMW X5 sales in the United States from January 5 through March 31, 2026, the highest count among BMW models in its Q1 table. The X3 placed second with 17,767 sales.
How the X5 compared with other BMW models
The X5 led the BMW-brand U.S. model table by 913 units. BMW’s attached Q1 2026 vehicle sales table reports these figures and year-over-year changes:

The unit difference is calculated from the company-reported model counts. Although the X3 grew faster year over year, the X5 remained ahead in Q1 2026 sales volume.
What the ranking says about BMW’s quarter
BMW of North America reported 84,231 U.S. sales for the BMW brand in Q1 2026, down 3.9% from 87,615 a year earlier. Within that total, BMW light-truck sales were 48,173, up 9.5%, while passenger-car sales were 36,058, down 17.3%. The X5’s 7.1% increase therefore came as overall BMW-brand sales declined.

BMW of North America President and CEO Sebastian Mackensen said the quarter’s results reflected broader industry trends, adding that “in spite of these headwinds, we outperformed the overall market.”
Which sales figure to use
The X5 ranking and 84,231 total refer to company-reported U.S. sales for the BMW brand, covering passenger cars and light trucks. BMW said the Q1 reporting window ran from January 5 through March 31, 2026, following the U.S. Auto Industry Sales Release Schedule issued by Motor Intelligence. These are sales figures, not registrations or global deliveries.

BMW Group separately reported 90,883 U.S. deliveries for Q1 2026, compared with 94,970 in Q1 2025, a 4.3% decline. That is a broader BMW Group delivery measure, not the BMW-brand sales total; BMW reported MINI separately. It should not be substituted for the brand figure when discussing the X5’s ranking.
