The South China Morning Post search result matching the title describes a 2023 ranking drawing on Celebrity Net Worth and Forbes, but its article page was unavailable. The accessible evidence does not establish the full order or the estimate attached to every artist. Estimates from different publishers and dates should be shown separately rather than combined into a supposedly comparable ranking. For example, the available evidence does not establish a 2023 figure for Dr. Dre, so no estimate for him belongs in this verified list.
What net worth does—and does not—mean
A net-worth estimate attempts to value a person’s assets and subtract liabilities. It is not interchangeable with annual earnings, a company’s revenue or valuation, the headline price of a sale, or the cash an artist personally received from a transaction. A company stake may be only part of a fortune, and a reported sale value does not reveal an individual’s proceeds after co-owners, taxes, debt, or other costs.

How Jay-Z’s wealth extends beyond recorded music
Fortune’s March 28, 2023 account of Forbes’ $2.5 billion estimate describes a portfolio that includes Tidal, Rocawear, Roc Nation, investments, real estate, Armand de Brignac Champagne, and D’Usse cognac. The variety of reported assets helps explain why a music-industry wealth estimate can differ sharply from a tally of recording or touring income alone. Fortune
Fortune reported that Tidal sold to Square in 2021 for $297 million and that Rocawear sold in a deal reported at $204 million. Those are reported transaction values, not figures for Jay-Z’s personal proceeds. A Forbes profile snippet also said he sold half of Armand de Brignac to LVMH in 2021 and a majority stake in D’Usse to Bacardi in 2023, but it did not provide verified deal valuations in the accessible information. What is behind Rihanna’s estimate
Guinness World Records says the bulk of Rihanna’s fortune came from Fenty Beauty and reports that she held a 30% stake in Savage X Fenty. It also says Fenty Beauty was co-owned by LVMH and doubled its revenue in 2022. That company revenue growth is not the same as Rihanna’s personal income, and the source does not provide a complete breakdown of her $1.4 billion estimate. Guinness World Records

- Keep different publishers’ estimates distinct unless their methods and dates are known to be comparable.
