Public wage lists name a different Bristol City top earner across the seasons, but their figures are third-party estimates—not club-confirmed salaries. For the eight completed seasons from 2018/19 to 2025/26, the lists put Tomas Kalas at the top twice. The 2025/26 estimate for Neto Borges is less well supported than the earlier entries.

What the estimates show
- Salary Sport lists Tomas Kalas as Bristol City’s highest earner in both 2018/19 and 2022/23, at an estimated £22,000 per week in each season.
- The highest amount in the Salary Sport entries shown here is Filip Benkovic’s estimated £32,000 per week for 2019/20. It is not a confirmed salary.
- The listed estimate falls to £15,000 per week for Jason Knight in 2023/24, then rises to £25,000 for Sam Morsy in 2024/25.
- Neto Borges is the only named 2025/26 top earner in the sources used here. SalaryLeaks estimates £25,000 per week, but that entry lacks corroboration.
How reliable are these salary figures?
Salary Sport publishes season-by-season wage estimates, but the available material does not establish individual players’ actual club payroll amounts. Nor does it specify whether the estimates include bonuses, loan-wage contributions, tax treatment or image-rights arrangements. They should therefore be read as reported estimates, not as complete compensation figures.
Salary Sport’s finance summary reports Bristol City staff costs of £35,915,560 for 2024/25. That is an aggregate cost, not a disclosure of any player’s individual salary, and it cannot verify the named-player estimate for Sam Morsy.
