Progresso Soup Drops are savory hard candies inspired by soup—not soup or cough drops. The latest documented release was a limited January 2026 variety can sold exclusively through Walmart.com. That release window has passed, and current stock or another release has not been confirmed. Check Walmart and official Progresso or General Mills channels for a live listing before trying to buy them.
Where to look for Progresso Soup Drops now
There is no verified current listing in the available reporting. Axios reported the January 2026 variety can as a Walmart.com exclusive, with limited Thursday drops planned through that month while supplies lasted; that schedule is over. A past exclusive does not establish that the product is still for sale, and an old price or product page should not be treated as a current offer.
- Check Walmart.com for a current product listing and confirm that it is the actual Progresso Soup Drops product, not an unrelated or third-party resale listing.
- Check Progresso or General Mills’ official channels for an announcement of a new release.
- If no current listing or announcement appears, availability is unconfirmed; the January 2026 drop details do not show that another batch is coming.
Axios’s January 15, 2026 report said the first batch sold out in two hours. That describes the initial batch at the time, not the current stock situation.

General Mills announced the original edition on January 16, 2025, describing it as a limited-edition savory hard candy. The company’s announcement said additional quantities would be released each Thursday for the remainder of National Soup Month while supplies lasted. The 2026 edition expanded the flavor selection, but its reported drop period also ended in January.

General Mills’ 2025 announcement framed the candies as a playful way to enjoy the flavor of Progresso Chicken Noodle Soup. In Axios’s early taste note, reporter Kelly Tyko said the chicken noodle candy gave “bouillon cube vibes”; that is one reporter’s subjective reaction, not a consensus or a tested product assessment.

Because a new release has not been confirmed, a third-party listing—if you encounter one—should be treated as resale, not as evidence that Progresso or Walmart has restocked the product. Check who is selling it, whether the listing identifies the exact candy and edition, and the total price and shipping before deciding whether it is worth buying. No current Amazon listing or stock has been verified.
