Among the new-aircraft price points listed by Textron Aviation for 2023, the Cirrus Vision Jet was the least expensive at $3.250 million. That is a published price point, not proof of the lowest price a buyer could find for any jet in 2023. Used aircraft and model-year guide values follow different pricing bases: a 2024 guide, for example, lists a much lower value for a 2023-model-year Eclipse 550.
Which jet had the lowest listed new-aircraft price in 2023?
Textron Aviation’s 2023 Fact Book lists these price points for three entry-level jets. The source labels them “2023 Business Jet Price Points” and says they draw on B&CA’s 2023 Purchase Planning Handbook edition and Textron Aviation data.

On that specific new-aircraft comparison, the Vision Jet is the lowest-priced model shown. These figures do not establish a universal cheapest-jet ranking: they are not used-aircraft asking prices or completed-sale prices, and the comparison covers only the listed models.
Why do other 2023 figures show lower prices?
AvBuyer’s March 2024 guide reproduces Aircraft Bluebook values by model year. Its figures for model year 2023 are not prices paid during calendar 2023, nor evidence that an aircraft was available to buy at that amount.

The Eclipse 550’s lower guide value does not make it the proven cheapest jet available in 2023. A guide value, a manufacturer’s price point, a seller’s asking price, and a transaction price describe different things. They should not be treated as interchangeable measures of what a buyer could have paid.
What did used asking prices look like in 2024?
Later market coverage gives context for the gap between new-aircraft price points and pre-owned aircraft, but these are historical 2024 snapshots—not 2023 prices or current listings. AvBuyer’s 2024 entry-level market review reported the following contemporaneous asking ranges:

A separate AvBuyer article in July 2024 reported that 36 Citation Mustangs were available in the market at the time; 16 had disclosed asking prices, ranging from $559,000 to $2.495 million. That snapshot illustrates how wide prices can be even within one model. Asking prices are not confirmed sale prices, and these figures should not be read as current market quotes.
How should a buyer compare the Mustang and Phenom 100E?
Price is only one part of the Mustang-versus-Phenom decision. AvBuyer’s comparison says the Phenom 100E offers greater payload, a larger cabin, and greater range with four passengers. It reports a lower purchase-price range and lower estimated hourly variable cost for the Mustang in the comparison’s market context. The operating-cost figures are estimates, not guaranteed costs for a particular aircraft or operator.

Aircraft of the same model can carry substantially different asking prices. AvBuyer’s coverage identifies total airframe time, age, and condition as important sources of variation; its broader market review also points to maintenance and upgrade needs, aircraft vintage, hours, and prior type of operation. A low advertised price can therefore come with work or limitations that make it a poor fit.

- Aircraft identity and history: model year, total time, and prior type of operation.

Is there a manufacturer-backed route to a pre-owned HondaJet?
Honda Aircraft announced a Certified Pre-Owned (CPO) program in June 2023. The announcement says each qualifying aircraft must pass a 208-point inspection and describes an initial FlightSafety pilot-training session plus a six-month or 100-hour credit toward the Airframe Flight Ready Performance program. Honda’s pre-owned page describes additional CPO benefits, including a 12-month extended airframe warranty and aircraft listings. Eligibility, inventory, and terms can change, so prospective buyers should confirm them directly with Honda Aircraft.

The clearest answer depends on what “cheapest” means. For the new-aircraft price points listed by Textron Aviation for 2023, the Vision Jet is the least expensive of the three models shown. A 2024-published guide gives a lower model-year value for the Eclipse 550, while 2024 used-market reporting shows that pre-owned asking prices can be substantially lower than new-aircraft price points. None of these sources establishes one definitive cheapest jet across all new and used aircraft available to buy in 2023.
The broader market review also reported, citing AMSTAT, that Cirrus’s share of the entry-level jet fleet rose from 181 aircraft in 2019 to more than 500 in 2023. That is a statistic attributed to AvBuyer’s review, not a direct AMSTAT table or a measure of the cheapest aircraft.
