What LVMH announced
On November 15, 2024, Bloomberg News reported that LVMH planned to ramp up Zenith movement manufacturing for use across the group’s watch brands. Frederic Arnault, then head of LVMH’s watch unit, described the ambition this way: “We think we can go beyond the brand to develop them as a movement manufacturer for the group.” Bloomberg’s report did not state how many movements Zenith would make or when any increase would be completed.
Which brands are linked to Zenith movements?
A Bloomberg-sourced SWI swissinfo.ch report dated November 15, 2024 said Zenith already made some movements for Hublot and had supplied TAG Heuer in the past. Those reported relationships establish existing and historical links; they do not show that every LVMH watch brand uses Zenith movements or that all of them will do so in the future.
Why Zenith could serve as a group movement maker
Zenith has experience developing movements at its Le Locle manufacture. LVMH dates the company’s founding to 1865 and says the El Primero, introduced in 1969, was the world’s first automatic chronograph. Its current brand profile also attributes to Zenith 2,333 chronometry prizes, 600 movement variations, and 300 patents filed; those are company-published figures.

Building on that expertise could give LVMH more in-house Swiss watchmaking capability and potential cost synergies, as the SWI report framed the rationale. The sources do not quantify savings or establish that they have been achieved. The same report noted that LVMH declined to bid for watchmaking assets offered by the Sandoz Family Foundation, including Vaucher Manufacture Fleurier and Parmigiani Fleurier.
What later updates say about progress
LVMH’s 2025 annual report says Zenith continued modernizing its Le Locle manufacturing facility. A March 2026 Hodinkee page summarizing an interview with Zenith CEO Benoit de Clerck says production was being kept in line with retail sell-out while movement-making and supply to other LVMH brands were being stepped up. Neither source provides an output figure, so they show continued attention to production and group supply, not the scale of any increase.

What remains unknown
Public information cited here does not specify the intended annual production increase, a completion date, the full set of receiving brands, or realized output. The distinction is important: LVMH announced a plan, and later reporting described facility modernization and expanded group supply efforts, but no numeric production commitment or result has been disclosed in these sources.
