AClasses’ 2022 list names ten podcasts and reports annual income estimates ranging from $1.2 million to $30 million. It is a ranking of podcast earners—not a verified ranking of podcasters by personal net worth. The publisher does not disclose its estimation method or a precise measurement window, and several entries group multiple hosts.
What the 2022 ranking measures—and what it doesn’t
AClasses presents the amounts as annual podcast income. They are estimates attributed to the publisher, not audited financial disclosures or confirmed personal fortunes. A show’s income also is not necessarily the same as an individual host’s earnings: a figure attached to a group or show cannot be divided among hosts without evidence about ownership, costs, contracts, or revenue sharing.
The list is described as 2022, but AClasses’ page also refers to Chapo Trap House hosts as among the richest in 2021. Because it does not specify a consistent accounting period, treat the ranking as a publisher’s 2022 list rather than a precise snapshot of income earned in a defined year. AClasses’ list and its framing
The 10 entries in AClasses’ 2022 list
| Rank | Host or hosts | Podcast | Reported annual podcast income |
|---|---|---|---|
| 1 | Joe Rogan | The Joe Rogan Experience | $30 million |
| 2 | Karen Kilgariff and Georgia Hardstark | My Favorite Murder | $15 million |
| 3 | Dave Ramsey | The Dave Ramsey Show | $10 million |
| 4 | Dax Shepard | Armchair Expert | $9 million |
| 5 | Bill Simmons | The Bill Simmons Podcast | $7 million |
| 6 | Will Menaker, Matt Christman, Felix Biederman, Amber A’Lee Frost, and Virgil Texas | Chapo Trap House | $2 million |
| 7 | Tim Dillon | The Tim Dillon Show | $1.3 million |
| 8 | Patrick Hinds and Gillian Pensavalle | True Crime Obsessed | $1.2 million |
| 9 | Pat Flynn | Smart Passive Income | $1.2 million |
| 10 | Andrew Schulz and Akaash Singh | Flagrant 2 | $1.2 million |
All amounts in the table are AClasses’ reported annual-income estimates for the listed podcast or hosts. The source does not establish that group amounts are per-person income. AClasses

Why “richest podcaster” lists can disagree
Rankings may refer to different measures: an individual’s estimated net worth, a host’s annual earnings, or a show’s revenue. Those figures cannot be compared as though they describe the same thing. They also need a date and a method to be meaningful.
A March 13, 2025 MoneyMint article, for example, says Joe Rogan earns about $10.8 million a year from episodes and separately claims his net worth exceeds $100 million. Those are claims from that publication, not verified financial disclosures, and they use different measures from AClasses’ reported $30 million in annual podcast income. The difference illustrates why a number should travel with its source, date, and definition—not be combined with another list as if the figures were a single dataset. MoneyMint’s 2025 list

Podcast income can come from more than ads
Podcast businesses may earn through advertising as well as paid subscriptions, merchandise, books, and events. The Boston University dissertation excerpt discusses these channels and cites a report of $15 million in My Favorite Murder revenue in 2019. That is a secondary citation tied to a particular year—not an audited figure or proof of what either host personally earned. Boston University OpenBU dissertation excerpt
Revenue is not the same as profit or take-home pay. Production and distribution expenses, business arrangements, taxes, and the split among participants can affect what an individual ultimately keeps. The available figures do not provide those details, so they cannot establish the hosts’ personal net worth.

How to read the figures responsibly
- Check the measure: distinguish a show’s reported income or revenue from a host’s personal earnings and net worth.
- Keep the date attached: an estimate tied to a 2022 list or a report about 2019 revenue is not a current financial statement.
- Preserve the attribution: these amounts are claims published by AClasses, not independently corroborated disclosures.
- Don’t divide group totals: the list does not state how income is shared among co-hosts.
