The £15,000-a-week figure attached to Niall Ennis and André Vidigal is a reported potential saving, not a confirmed amount Stoke City disclosed or is known to have saved. Salary databases estimated the players’ wages at a combined £15,000 per week in 2023–24, but those figures are not official and do not establish the terms or financial effect of any later departure.
What does the £15,000-a-week figure represent?
It is a reported claim about the wages Stoke City could free by moving on Ennis and Vidigal. The available sources do not independently verify that combined figure or show that Stoke announced it. A matching total appears in SalaryLeaks’ estimates for the 2023–24 season: £8,000 a week for Ennis and £7,000 for Vidigal. That arithmetic is not proof that the report’s figure came from those estimates or that Stoke actually saved the same amount.
SalaryLeaks cautions that comprehensive salary data for the English Football League is rarely published and that many figures in its listings are informed estimates. These amounts should therefore be read as estimates for an earlier season, not verified contract wages or current figures. SalaryLeaks’ 2023–24 Stoke City salary listing.
What is established about Vidigal and Ennis?
André Vidigal
BBC Sport reported that Wycombe Wanderers signed Vidigal after a trial at Adams Park, describing him as a former Stoke winger. The BBC said his last Stoke game had been almost a year before its report. That confirms a move to Wycombe, but the report does not give an exact Stoke exit date, any contract settlement, or the wage impact. BBC Sport’s report on Vidigal signing for Wycombe.

Niall Ennis
The sources available here do not establish Ennis’s current club, the date or terms of a Stoke departure, or any resulting saving as of 8 October 2026. A 2025 The72 article discussed Ennis and Vidigal among players Stoke might try to move on in the summer; that was transfer-window analysis, not confirmation of completed exits or a wage saving. The72’s 2025 discussion of possible Stoke exits.
Why a player’s listed wage is not the same as a club’s saving
Even if a salary estimate were accurate, it would not by itself establish how much a club saved when a player left. The sources do not state whether either contract involved a settlement, whether another club contributed to wages, or how bonuses and other terms affected the cost. The reported weekly figure should not be treated as a verified net saving.

TeamTalk previously reported Stoke’s desire for further departures to help its wage budget, but that account does not substantiate a £15,000-a-week saving for these two players. TeamTalk’s report on Stoke’s transfer-window wage-budget aims.

Are footballers’ wages public?
These sources illustrate the distinction between salary estimates published by databases and figures disclosed by a club. Stoke has not been shown here to have confirmed either player’s wage or the claimed combined saving. Online salary listings can provide an indicative figure, but their own caveats matter: they are not a substitute for a contract disclosure or a club’s accounting.
