The page’s headline says “2026,” but it was updated September 11, 2025; its testing account describes a three-week evaluation, not testing in 2026. The right pick depends on whether you value a simple squeeze bottle, powered spray, or a particularly light manual option.

These rankings come from Travel + Leisure contributor Séamus Bellamy. Travel + Leisure says he used five portable bidets for three weeks at home and while traveling, including in cafes and airplane bathrooms. He assessed spray direction and ergonomics, pressure and comfort, build, storage, noise, cleaning, and packability. This is the review’s testing and ranking; it is not an independent test by this publication.

TUSHY’s product page instead lists a 3.2-ounce empty weight, an 11-fluid-ounce capacity, silicone body, ABS plastic lid, three-point adjustable nozzle, carrying case, and carabiner. Those weight figures may reflect different configurations or measurement bases; the sources do not establish exactly why they differ.

Bellamy describes the spray as controllable and the bottle as easy to store, but notes that the silicone seams could wear and eventually leak. TUSHY advises emptying the bottle and letting it dry after each use to help prevent mold growth. That drying step matters for any reusable bottle, but follow the model’s own care guidance.

Travel + Leisure describes the INSOLIFE as a rechargeable pump unit with USB-C charging, strong and soft settings, and the option to use its included reservoir or a repurposed bottle. The review reports up to 60 uses per charge and a 13.5-ounce reservoir. Treat these as figures reported by the review rather than independently confirmed manufacturer specifications.

The powered stream may suit someone who wants more spray force without squeezing a bottle, but it comes with a positioning tradeoff. Bellamy found that the unit had to be tilted and held at the right angle both to aim the nozzle and to get the reservoir water out effectively. Charging is another task to plan for on a trip.
Brondell GoSpa GS-70: light, manual, and distinct from the GS-60
The tested lightweight pick is the GoSpa GS-70, a manual squeeze model with a screw-on nozzle. Travel + Leisure reports 13.5-ounce capacity and 3.2 ounces with the case and reservoir. Brondell’s official page lists a 400 mL (13.5-ounce) reservoir, a device weight of 2.12 ounces, an angled nozzle, metal air lock, storage bag, and one-year limited warranty. These weights use different configurations, so compare like with like when pack weight is important.

The review says the GS-70 works with many repurposed soda bottles, while noting concerns about the plastic reservoir’s durability and wishing the nozzle were hinged for easier aiming. Do not confuse it with Brondell’s separate GoSpa Collapsible GS-60: that model expands to 500 mL, collapses to under five inches, and is not designed to travel leakproof while full. Brondell says to fill the GS-60 when ready to use; those GS-60 details do not describe the GS-70 reviewed here.
Choose by pressure, capacity, and packing needs
- For manual simplicity: TUSHY and GS-70 do not need charging. The TUSHY offers a collapsible body and adjustable wand; the GS-70 uses a screw-on nozzle and is the review’s lightweight pick.
- For powered pressure: Consider the INSOLIFE if a rechargeable pump and two spray settings suit you, and if you are willing to manage charging and nozzle angle.
- For capacity: TUSHY’s listed 11 fl oz is smaller than the 13.5 oz reported for the other two. Capacity is only part of the decision: a forceful stream can use water quickly, according to the review.
- For durability and storage: Consider the reviewer’s seam concern for TUSHY and reservoir concern for GS-70. Whichever model you choose, check how it dries, how the nozzle is cleaned, and whether the packed configuration fits your bag.
Use and clean a portable bidet safely
- Fill with clean water. If local tap water is not safe to drink, the review advises filling from a bottle of safe water.
- Aim before squeezing or activating the pump. Adjust your grip and angle so the stream reaches where intended; the INSOLIFE may require a particular tilt to use its reservoir effectively.
- Clean after use according to the model’s instructions. The review’s general advice is to wash the exterior and nozzle with soapy water when hand-washing.
- Dry fully before storage. TUSHY specifically recommends emptying and drying its model after every use. A small travel towel can help dry the exterior, but do not store wet components in a closed case.
Travel + Leisure discusses filling after airport security and keeping an electric bidet with a lithium battery in the passenger cabin. Those are travel-policy questions that can depend on the current rules, airline, and route; check current TSA and airline guidance for your trip rather than relying on a product review for the latest requirements.
