Recent reviews favor different models because they test different products and use different methods. The most useful shortlist depends on whether you need a waterproof ski glove, a liner to wear under a shell, a mitten, or a pair for everyday cold-weather use.
How the leading reviews tested heated gloves
The picks below come from five publications’ reported testing, not a single shared head-to-head test. Their results are useful for identifying candidates, but they should not be combined into one universal ranking.
- Travel + Leisure, updated August 25, 2026, says it tested 28 pairs over three years. It assessed construction and durability, charging and warm-up times, battery life at multiple settings, charging ease, and how observed runtime compared with advertised runtime.
- Good Housekeeping, updated February 17, 2026, evaluated 14 styles with its scientists, engineers, and consumer testers. It reports logging more than 82,000 data points with temperature sensors and a thermal camera, alongside construction assessment and field feedback.
- Outdoor Life describes fully charging gloves, running them on high to assess battery drain, comparing warmth and touchscreen behavior, and using them across activities.
- Bob Vila, published March 25, 2026, says it tested 15 pairs, prioritizing heat output, ease of use, durability, time to warmth, and manufacturers’ weatherproofing claims.
- Reviewed, updated January 20, 2026, names its picks and reports specific runtime figures for the Outdoor Research Prevail.
Because the outlets tested different products under different conditions, a pick in one guide does not establish that it will outperform another outlet’s winner.
Seven heated gloves and related picks to consider
This is a use-case shortlist drawn from the named review guides. Some outlets list multiple options, so the seven selections below are not a claim that these are the only good products or a pooled score ranking.

| Product | Best-fit use in a review guide | What the publication reports |
|---|---|---|
| Day Wolf Unisex 7.4V Featherweight Heated Gloves | Best overall, according to Travel + Leisure | Travel + Leisure says the elements warmed within one minute in its test, but heat felt weaker at the fingertips than elsewhere and the battery indicator was confusing. |
| Outdoor Research Prevail Heated GORE-TEX Gloves | Waterproof use and skiing; named overall by Reviewed | Reviewed describes waterproof construction, touchscreen thumb and index fingers, and heat distributed across the fingers. It lists 2.5 hours on low, 5 on medium, and 8 on high. |
| Ororo Twin Cities 3-in-1 Heated Gloves 2.0 | Battery life, according to Travel + Leisure; versatile pick, according to Good Housekeeping | The cited guides name the model for these categories; the available reporting does not give a runtime figure comparable to Reviewed’s Prevail figures. |
| PEKWZIZ Rechargeable Heated Gloves | Touchscreen use, according to Travel + Leisure | Travel + Leisure names this model in its touchscreen category; the cited reporting does not establish a comparable touchscreen test result across all shortlisted products. |
| YongGfte Heated Gloves | Convertible fingerless option, according to Travel + Leisure; value pick, according to Bob Vila | The publications identify the convertible/fingerless format as a category distinction. Check the exact variant and weather protection before buying. |
| Snow Deer Heated Mittens | Mittens, according to Travel + Leisure; value pick, according to Good Housekeeping | Both guides name a Snow Deer mitten pick. A mitten format trades some individual-finger dexterity for a different coverage format. |
| Savior Heat Electric Heated Gloves | Extreme cold, according to Travel + Leisure; overall, according to Good Housekeeping | The guides assign different categories to Savior Heat products. Verify the exact model name and version, since the publications’ labels do not establish that every similarly named glove is the same product. |
Choose the format before comparing heat
Full gloves for weather protection and finger use
A full glove is the straightforward choice when you need a self-contained shell and individual-finger movement. Check whether its shell is explicitly waterproof or only water-resistant, and look at the cuff and closure as well as the heating system.
Liners for layering
A heated liner is designed to be worn under another glove; do not assume it provides the same weather protection as a standalone shell. Allow enough room in the outer glove to avoid a cramped fit, and check whether the added layers interfere with movement or touchscreen use. Savior Heat liners appear as value picks in Outdoor Life and Reviewed, while Good Housekeeping names Day Wolf gloves as its liner pick.
Rank #2
Mittens when you prefer that coverage format
Mittens are a distinct format rather than a direct substitute for a dexterous glove. Snow Deer’s heated mittens are named by Travel + Leisure and Good Housekeeping. Choose them if the form suits your activity, and confirm that you can still manage the tasks you need to do with reduced separation between fingers.
Compare runtime at the setting you will actually use
Runtime varies by model, heat setting, and test conditions. Treat published figures as the result of the named outlet’s test, not a guarantee for every wearer or outing.

- Reviewed lists the Outdoor Research Prevail at 2.5 hours on low, 5 hours on medium, and 8 hours on high. Those are Reviewed’s model-specific figures, not a general battery-life range for heated gloves.
- Good Housekeeping reports that most of the gloves it tested lasted two to three hours on maximum. Its Venustas pick stayed above 120°F for six hours in its lab test; that temperature and duration are specific to that test and product.
- Outdoor Life says high-setting runtime for its best gloves was around two to two and a half hours in its testing, with lower settings or intermittent heat extending use.
These results are not directly comparable: the outlets did not use one harmonized protocol or establish identical temperature conditions. For a long outing, consider whether you can use a lower setting or intermittent heat, and plan around the specific product’s instructions and the conditions you expect.
Independent reader supportYour contribution helps us test, update, and keep practical guides available for everyone.Check weather protection, dexterity, and controls
- Water and snow: For sustained wet weather, look for an explicitly waterproof model. Do not treat a water-resistant shell or a liner worn under an outer glove as waterproof protection.
- Fit and layering: Heated construction and battery placement can add bulk. Try the glove with the liner or outer shell you intend to use, and check that your fingers and wrist can move comfortably.
- Touchscreens: Touchscreen performance is a product-specific feature, not a category guarantee. Reviewed describes touchscreen thumb and index fingers on the Prevail; Travel + Leisure names PEKWZIZ for touchscreen use. Verify operation for the device and tasks that matter to you.
- Controls and battery indication: Consider whether controls are easy to reach and understand while wearing the gloves. Travel + Leisure found the Day Wolf battery indicator confusing in its test.
- Exact model and availability: Product names, revisions, prices, and stock can change. Match the full model name on a current retailer listing to the model discussed in the review; Reviewed said its Seirus HeatTouch Hellfire Mitt was unavailable when its guide was updated January 20, 2026.
Use heated apparel cautiously in avalanche terrain
Outdoor Life warns that batteries in heated apparel can affect avalanche-beacon searches and recommends using heated apparel in front-country settings. If you travel in avalanche terrain, follow applicable beacon and safety guidance rather than assuming a heated glove is compatible.
