How many vehicles did Tesla deliver in Q2 2025?
Tesla reported 384,122 vehicle deliveries for the quarter ended June 30, 2025. Compared with 443,956 in Q2 2024, that is a decrease of 59,834 vehicles, or 13.5%, rounded to 14% in the headline. Tesla’s update deck displays the decline as 13% using a rounded percentage.

The figures are Tesla-reported delivery counts, not an independently established measure of revenue, profitability, or market share. Tesla’s July 2, 2025 production and delivery release reports the quarter’s totals.
Were deliveries up or down from the previous quarter?
They were up sequentially: Q2’s 384,122 deliveries exceeded Q1 2025’s 336,681 by 47,441, an increase of about 14.1% from the first quarter. That does not change the year-over-year comparison, which was negative. The two comparisons answer different questions: Q2 versus Q1 tracks the latest quarter-to-quarter movement, while Q2 versus Q2 a year earlier compares the same seasonal quarter.

How did deliveries compare with production?
Tesla produced 410,244 vehicles in Q2 2025 and delivered 384,122. Production exceeded deliveries by 26,122 vehicles. These are separate operating measures; production is the number made during the period, while deliveries are the company’s reported vehicle count for the period. Tesla also reported 24 days of global vehicle inventory in its Q2 2025 quarterly update deck.
Which Tesla models accounted for the deliveries?
Tesla’s table groups Model 3 and Model Y together, rather than providing separate counts for each. It reported 373,728 Model 3/Y deliveries and 10,394 deliveries in its other-model category.

Why did Tesla deliveries fall?
Reuters’ July 2, 2025 account described the decline as sharper than analysts expected and cited intense competition, backlash to CEO Elon Musk’s political stance, and an aging vehicle lineup as factors weighing on global demand. Those are reported explanations, not a quantified breakdown issued by Tesla, and they do not establish one definitive cause. Reuters also reported the 13.5% year-over-year decline.
A contemporaneous market report put the available analyst consensus at about 390,000 deliveries, above the 384,122 Tesla reported. That estimate was a market expectation, not a Tesla figure.

What does the delivery number say about Tesla’s financial results?
By itself, it does not establish how Tesla performed financially. The company cautioned in its July 2 release that vehicle deliveries and energy-storage deployments are only two measures of performance and should not be relied on alone as indicators of quarterly financial results. Tesla said results also depend on factors including average selling price, cost of sales, and foreign-exchange movements. The delivery announcement was not the company’s quarterly earnings report.
