Super Evil Megacorp announced on January 13, 2025, that Ian Fielding, previously its Studio Head, had become CEO. Longtime CEO Kristian Segerstrale moved into the Executive Chair role. The company’s current About page lists Fielding as CEO and Segerstrale as Executive Chairman.
What changed at Super Evil Megacorp
The appointment formalized a leadership handoff: Fielding took over as CEO, while Segerstrale became Executive Chair and was expected to continue collaborating with him. The company described Fielding as leading its products and growth as part of its long-term strategy.
Fielding’s experience
In its announcement, Super Evil Megacorp said Fielding previously worked at Insomniac Games and spent more than eight years at Riot Games. At Riot, he helped lead major updates to League of Legends and helped launch and operate VALORANT as a live service. At Super Evil Megacorp, he had served as Studio Head and executive producer of Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Splintered Fate.
The company’s rationale and ambitions
Super Evil Megacorp framed the change against its expansion beyond a mobile-first studio. The company said Fielding helped grow it from a 30-person, single-product, mobile-first operation into a studio of more than 100 people working across multiple products and platforms. Those are figures reported by the company in its January 13, 2025 announcement, not independently audited measurements.
#1 Best Overall
The company said it aimed to become a top-tier independent studio with world-class talent, creating shared gaming experiences. That is management’s stated ambition, not an independently established assessment of the studio’s standing or future prospects.

The January 2025 announcement reported that Splintered Fate had received more than 22,000 five-out-of-five player reviews on Apple Arcade. This is a company-reported figure from that announcement, not an independently audited review count. The company’s later timeline records physical retail editions of the game for Switch, PS5, PS4, and Xbox Series X in September 2025; that later milestone does not establish that the CEO appointment caused the releases.
