TaxCloud’s listed subscription prices are not necessarily its all-in cost. G2 and Capterra list Starter at $19 per month and Premium at $79 per month, while TaxCloud’s own pricing page presents selectable order-volume pricing and separately lists filing plans starting at $39 per month and audit support starting at $99 per month. Your total depends on order volume, filing states, platform, and the services you need.
What TaxCloud does
TaxCloud provides sales-tax compliance software and services for ecommerce and SaaS businesses. Its offerings include tax calculation, reporting, filing and remittance, nexus monitoring, audit support, and integrations. The service is intended to help businesses manage obligations across states, but the right configuration depends on how they sell and which systems they use.
TaxCloud says it is approved by the Streamlined Sales Tax Governing Board as a Certified Service Provider in all 24 member states and describes SST-related services and discounts on its pricing page.
How much does TaxCloud cost?
There is no single published figure in the available pricing display that establishes every buyer’s complete monthly cost. TaxCloud’s official page offers selectable pricing tied to order volume; confirm the current amount for your actual volume rather than treating a plan’s headline price as a quote.

| Cost item | Published figure or terms | How to interpret it |
|---|---|---|
| Starter subscription | $19 per month on G2’s listing, last updated April 23, 2026; also listed at $19 per month by Capterra as of October 8, 2026 | Third-party listing prices, not a guaranteed TaxCloud quote. Capterra also lists a free option and plan limits; verify current order allowances and integrations. |
| Premium subscription | $79 per month on G2’s listing, last updated April 23, 2026; also listed at $79 per month by Capterra as of October 8, 2026 | Third-party listing prices, not a guaranteed quote or a complete all-in cost. |
| Tax filing | Starts at $39 per month on TaxCloud’s official pricing page, accessed October 8, 2026 | Starting price; the applicable filing configuration and states affect the quote. |
| Audit support | Starts at $99 per month on TaxCloud’s official pricing page, accessed October 8, 2026 | Starting price for audit support, which is separate from a subscription. |
| Trial | TaxCloud advertises a 30-day Premium free trial on its official pricing page, accessed October 8, 2026 | Confirm the current trial terms before signing up. |
| State surcharges | TaxCloud notes surcharges for Colorado and Louisiana filings on its official pricing page, accessed October 8, 2026 | Ask whether either applies to your filing configuration and what it adds to the quote. |
G2 says its pricing information may be supplied by the provider or gathered from public materials and that final pricing negotiations are with the seller. Its listing and Capterra’s can help frame a comparison, but neither removes the need to confirm your buyer-specific quote. Check the official TaxCloud pricing page for selectable order-volume options and ask which subscription, filing plan, surcharges, and support services are included.
What is included in Starter versus Premium?
TaxCloud describes Starter as aimed at Shopify or Stripe sellers that need reporting and filing. Premium is positioned for growing ecommerce and SaaS businesses that need broader compliance capabilities. The following reflects the features described on TaxCloud’s integrations page and pricing page; confirm availability and plan requirements for your configuration.
Rank #2
| Plan | Described capabilities | Integration notes |
|---|---|---|
| Starter | Return-ready reports for all states, SST access, nexus monitoring, and phone and email support; intended for reporting and filing | TaxCloud lists Shopify, Stripe, WooCommerce, and CSV upload. Its page distinguishes scheduled data-import connections from real-time integrations. |
| Premium | Starter capabilities plus real-time tax calculation, ERP integrations, and TaxCloud API access | Listed options include BigCommerce, WooCommerce, QuickBooks, Chargebee, Magento/Adobe Commerce, Miva, Odoo, AcctVantage ERP, and CSV upload. |
Integration names alone do not establish that every workflow works on every plan. Before buying, confirm whether your platform connection is real-time or a scheduled import, which plan includes it, and whether it covers the orders and accounting workflow you actually use.
Does TaxCloud work with Shopify, QuickBooks, and other platforms?
TaxCloud lists Shopify and QuickBooks among its integrations, but the details matter. Its response to a G2 reviewer clarified that its direct QuickBooks integration is with QuickBooks Online; the company said customers can use CSV upload with QuickBooks Desktop and other systems. That distinction may matter if you expect a direct connection or need orders outside your ecommerce integration imported automatically.

For any platform, verify the exact product edition and connection type with TaxCloud. A listing may refer to a scheduled data import, a real-time integration, an API, or a CSV workflow; those are not interchangeable.
Independent reader supportYour contribution helps us test, update, and keep practical guides available for everyone. What do TaxCloud customers say in reviews?
G2 displayed 43 reviews and a 4.5/5 rating on its seller page, modified October 1, 2026. Two displayed April 2026 reviews praised support, ease of use, onboarding, affordability, and filing assistance. One reviewer described difficulty moving to QuickBooks Online while using QuickBooks Desktop and said orders not covered by the ecommerce integration required manual entry. TaxCloud’s response said its direct QuickBooks integration is for QuickBooks Online and pointed to CSV uploads for Desktop and other systems. These are individual reports, not a controlled or representative evaluation. See G2’s TaxCloud reviews.

Capterra’s pricing and review pages show a more mixed set of feedback, including complaints about access to support and a concern about unexpected fees; other displayed feedback describes knowledgeable responses during an integration project. Those comments reflect individual experiences and do not establish how typical a result is. Review the comments for businesses using a similar platform and workflow, and ask TaxCloud to spell out fees and support channels in your quote. See Capterra’s TaxCloud listing.
How to judge whether TaxCloud is worth the price
TaxCloud is more likely to fit if its plan and integrations match your actual sales and filing process. Compare the complete configuration, not just the subscription label.

Confirm which order count the quote uses, whether the subscription is monthly or annual, and what filing, audit support, and state surcharges add.
- Match the calculation method to your workflow. Decide whether you need real-time tax calculation or scheduled data imports, and confirm the plan that provides it.
- Check every system in your stack. Verify your ecommerce platform, accounting software, and ERP, including the precise edition and connection type. Ask how orders outside an integration are handled.
- Map your filing workload. Identify the states and returns you need handled, then ask what is included in the quoted filing service and whether any state surcharge applies.
- Decide whether audit support is necessary. Treat it as a separate cost item and compare the service scope with your needs.
- Compare relevant customer experiences. Look for reviews from businesses with a similar platform, order flow, and company size rather than relying on a star rating alone.
The available pricing and review information does not establish a universal best provider. TaxCloud’s value depends on whether the quoted combination of subscription, filing, integrations, and support saves enough work and fits your obligations. Because prices, plan limits, trials, integrations, surcharges, and reviews can change, confirm current terms directly before committing.
