Take-Two’s Fiscal Q4 2024 Bookings Were $1.35B; GTA VI Was Slated for Fall 2025

Take-Two’s $1.35 billion fiscal Q4 2024 net bookings were company-wide, not GTA VI sales. Its Fall 2025 outlook was later replaced by updated planned dates.

Take-Two Interactive reported $1.35 billion in company-wide net bookings for fiscal Q4 2024, the quarter ended March 31, 2024. In the same May 16, 2024 results, it forecast that Grand Theft Auto VI would arrive in Fall 2025. The bookings figure was not revenue or sales attributed to GTA VI, and the Fall 2025 window was later superseded.

What the $1.35 billion figure represents

Take-Two reported $1.35 billion of net bookings for the fourth quarter of its 2024 fiscal year, which ended March 31, 2024. This was an issuer-reported, company-wide operating metric—not a figure for one game. Take-Two’s May 16, 2024 results release reported net bookings separately from GAAP net revenue.

Take-Two defines net bookings as the net amount of products and services sold digitally or sold in physically during the period. Its definition also includes items such as licensing fees, merchandise, in-game advertising, strategy guides, and publisher incentives. The metric therefore should not be read as cash receipts, GAAP revenue, or units sold.

Was the $1.35 billion from GTA VI?

No. The reported $1.35 billion covered Take-Two’s business across products and services; the cited release does not identify any portion of it as GTA VI bookings or sales. GTA VI was still described as a future release in the same results outlook.

A later company comparison reinforces the distinction: Take-Two reported $1.58 billion in net bookings for fiscal Q4 2025, up 17% year over year, against $1.35 billion in the prior-year quarter. Its May 2025 results release named contributors to the 2025 quarter, including NBA 2K25, Grand Theft Auto Online and Grand Theft Auto V, Civilization VII, and other titles and services. It did not identify GTA VI as a contributor to the earlier $1.35 billion quarter. The same release reported $5.65 billion in net bookings for fiscal 2025, a full-year company figure rather than a GTA VI total.

How GTA VI’s release timing changed

Fall 2025 was Take-Two’s outlook in May 2024, not a launch that took place. The company subsequently revised the planned date, and its later results listed a different date:

May 2, 2025 schedule update May 26, 2026 planned date (Take-Two release)
May 2026 fiscal-year results November 19, 2026 listed date (Take-Two release)

In the May 2025 update, Take-Two Chairman and CEO Strauss Zelnick said, “We support fully Rockstar Games taking additional time to realize their creative vision for Grand Theft Auto VI, which promises to be a groundbreaking, blockbuster entertainment experience that exceeds audience expectations.” That statement accompanied the revised May 26, 2026 plan.

The November 19, 2026 date is the latest company-reported date established by Take-Two’s May 2026 results and is time-bound to that release. Schedules can change; it is not a guarantee that the game will launch on that date.
