Tag Markets says its trading business is operated by Mauritius-incorporated T.M. Financials Ltd, regulated by the Mauritius Financial Services Commission (FSC) as an Investment Dealer under licence GB21026474. Its disclosures describe current services and regulatory boundaries, but do not support a forecast about the future of regulated FX and CFD trading. For a prospective client, the useful questions are which entity would serve you, whether you are eligible, and what the provider’s terms and risks mean for your circumstances.

What does “the future” mean in this case?

Tag Markets promotes online access to leveraged foreign-exchange (FX) and contract-for-difference (CFD) trading, including MetaTrader 5 and its CopyX copy-trading service. Those features show how the company presents its current offering; they do not establish where the industry is headed. The company disclosures reviewed do not substantiate a market forecast or a prediction about future regulation.

This article therefore treats Tag Markets as a current example to evaluate, not as evidence that the wider FX or CFD market is becoming safer, more profitable, or more accessible. The information below reflects the company’s disclosures available on October 8, 2026; account terms and eligibility can change.

Which company would provide the trading service?

The brand name alone does not identify the legal counterparty. Tag Markets’ official homepage identifies two entities and describes their roles as follows:

Entity Role described by Tag Markets Details disclosed
T.M. Financials Ltd Provides trading accounts and trading/liquidity services Incorporated in Mauritius, company number C185265; the company says it is regulated by the Mauritius FSC as an Investment Dealer, licence GB21026474.
TM FINANCIALS SA (PTY) LTD Provides marketing services only South African company registration 2024/508189/07; the company identifies it as FSCA-authorised, FSP 55237.

These are statements by Tag Markets, not an independent confirmation of either entity’s current status or permissions. The company’s Help Center article, “Is Tag Markets regulated?”, directs readers to the Mauritius FSC online public register and says to search for the company by name. Before opening an account, check the live register entry, its status and permissions, and the legal entity named in the customer agreement. A brand’s regulatory claim is not a substitute for identifying the counterparty to your own contract.

Does Tag Markets accept clients in your country?

Tag Markets says it is not authorised or regulated by an EU regulatory authority and that it does not accept residents of Spain or the United States. These are the restrictions stated on the company’s pages; they do not establish eligibility or the rules that apply in every other country. Check the current country restrictions and local requirements directly before applying.

Where a client is accepted, the country and contracting entity can affect which regulatory protections and complaint routes apply. Confirm those details in the account agreement and with the relevant regulator rather than assuming that a company’s authorization in one jurisdiction automatically provides protection in another.

What platform and account options does Tag Markets advertise?

Tag Markets advertises MetaTrader 5 access on mobile, in a browser, and on desktop. It also describes CopyX as its in-house copy-trading ecosystem. These are provider descriptions: the available information does not independently establish software quality, execution, liquidity, or copy-trading results.

The company’s account-types page lists the following options. Its published Zero figures are headline terms for that account, not a complete cost schedule or terms for every account or instrument.

Account type Information disclosed by Tag Markets
Zero The account-types page lists a USD 10 minimum deposit, a 0.7-pip average spread, USD 0 commission, and maximum leverage of 1:500. These are mutable, provider-published terms; verify the current contract specifications.
Pro Listed as an account type; terms not stated in the reviewed account-types information.
Cent Listed as an account type; terms not stated in the reviewed account-types information.
Islamic Listed as an account type; terms not stated in the reviewed account-types information.
Amplify Listed as an account type; terms not stated in the reviewed account-types information.

Before comparing an account, request the applicable terms for the instruments you intend to trade. Headline spread and commission figures alone do not show total cost: financing or swap charges, deposits and withdrawals, and other fees may also matter. Check how leverage and margin rules apply to each product rather than treating one account’s maximum as universal.

What does Tag Markets disclose about CFD risk?

Tag Markets’ legal risk advisory states: “85% of retail investor accounts lose money when trading CFDs with this provider.” This is the company’s own figure for its retail CFD accounts. It is not an industry-wide statistic, and the page does not state a publication year for the figure.

The company’s Risk Warnings page says: “CFDs are complex financial products and not suitable for all investors.” It explains that CFDs use leverage and that a client can lose invested capital. Its homepage also warns that leverage can work against a trader and advises readers to consider whether they understand the products and can afford the risk. The company recommends seeking independent financial advice where necessary.

These warnings are relevant to any assessment of the service, but they do not determine whether a particular product is suitable for a particular person. Consider your financial position, experience, and ability to withstand losses before taking on leveraged exposure.

How should you compare Tag Markets with another provider?

Use the same checks for each firm, and compare the documents that would govern your own account rather than relying only on marketing pages.

  • Counterparty and authorization: Match the legal entity in the agreement to the regulator’s live register entry. Check the permissions and jurisdiction, not just the brand name or a licence number.
  • Eligibility and protections: Confirm the provider accepts residents of your country and establish which local rules, complaint channels, and protections apply to the contracting entity.
  • Total costs: Compare spreads, commissions, financing, deposit and withdrawal charges, and other fees for the same instruments and account conditions.
  • Leverage and safeguards: Review leverage limits, margin closeout rules, negative-balance protections, and the provider’s own retail-loss disclosure. Do not infer a protection from a headline leverage figure.
  • Features versus evidence: Treat platforms and copy-trading tools as advertised capabilities unless you have reliable evidence about their performance and the risks of using them.

What the available disclosures do not establish

The company pages describe its claimed licence, account options, platform access, and warnings. They do not independently verify the regulator-register entry, live execution quality, spreads in trading conditions, liquidity providers, CopyX performance, or client withdrawal outcomes. Those points require evidence beyond the company’s own descriptions. A regulatory claim and a feature list are not, by themselves, evidence that a broker is safe, best, or profitable.
